Welcome to Berlin! I'm Marriette and I'd love to show you what Berlin has to offer! Ask any non-German how they ended up in Berlin and you’ll often hear the same story: “I came on holiday and never left.” And that’s exactly how it happened for me. I arrived fresh from Manchester University with a BA in Sociology, ready to escape the drizzle of the motherland and dive into something new. What started as a brief fling with Berlin turned into a full-blown love affair, and 19 years later, I’m still here. I’ve mastered the language, gained German citizenship, and built a life I never saw coming. I’ve been a full-time tour guide since 2006, and I still wake up excited to head to work, surely a sign I’m in the right job. Berlin is unlike any other city: layered with history, bursting with contradictions, raw and resilient, constantly reinventing itself. It’s not always pretty, but it’s always real. And it never, ever gets boring. Over the years, I’ve guided every type of tour you can imagine: private one-on-ones, lively school and university groups, romantic strolls with couples, full-blown 40-person bus tours, you name it. On foot, by bike, segway, chauffeur-driven car or coach, I adapt to whatever suits your style. Whether you want to tick off the must-see sights or uncover Berlin’s hidden nooks and off-the-radar gems, I’ll tailor the experience to your interests. Berlin is a living, breathing creature with a personality all its own. It’s reeled me in for good, and I’d love to show you exactly why. Looking forward to meeting you! - Native English Speaker - 19 years of experience as a professional Berlin Tourguide - BA Degree in Sociology from Manchester University I am not a driver, but I can arrange for a vehicle and driver at an additional cost upon request.

Berlin is oozing with history, charm and delicious flavours. Let me take you on a tour across the city to places you wouldn't have found yourself. We'll wander through the coolest parts of Berlin sampling the food and drinks adored by the locals. Berlin's foodie scene is relatively new, evolving in the past 15 years in part due to a huge influx of young foreigners bringing flavours from around the globe. Now our street-food scene, third-wave coffee movement and charming supper clubs attract tourists just as much as the traditional sites. Berlin has a long tradition of being moulded by different waves of immigration coming into the capital. Many cultures have left their mark on the city, most prominently Turkish and Vietnamese. We'll explore the history behind the flavours as well as tasting them. Let me show you what it's really like to live and eat in Berlin.
Without giving too much away. . . - We will wander through the former Jewish Quarter of Berlin, mixing history and culture with our tastings. - We'll sample a selection of Berlin's finest tastes; a mixture of savory and sweet. If you would like to include any additional sites, please do let me know and we can personalize your tour. The tour can also be tweaked per dietary requirements. All tours take place no matter what the weather is, I am British which means I'm very much used to the rain! Please check the weather on the day.
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
