Greetings, Roberto here. Although I was born and raised in Italy, for the past ten years I've been calling San Francisco, the "The City by the Bay", my home. I love this town's vibrant life, eventful history, and culture of open-mindedness. I truly enjoy experiencing new adventures and meeting people from all over the world on my private tours of San Francisco and nearby environs. My background in the liberal arts and passion for foreign languages and cross-cultural communication, gave me the opportunity and ability to work and play in Mexico, Spain and now the USA. I am happy to share my local knowledge and world experiences with my guests. I love nature, history and I am passionate about wine. So visiting American National Parks and California Wine Country is always exciting for me. When it comes to San Francisco, I take great pleasure in showing my guests iconic landmarks and lesser-known parts of the City. My tours are private and therefore, they are all customizable to meet your personal interests and expectations. Looking forward to hearing from you soon! This guided walking tour will take you to San Francisco's Little Italy, officially known as North Beach, and its neighboring Fisherman's Wharf, home of the Italian-American community since the late 19th century. This is a familiar place to me because this is where I worked for many years and became part of the local community. Known for its sidewalk cafes, restaurant and bakeries, North Beach will awake your senses and make you feel like in a European city. One of the City's first parks, Washington Square is a must for locals and visitors, is considered the heart of the neighborhood. A short walking distance away is Fisherman's Wharf, the most popular tourist destination in San Francisco. This tour will show you famous points of interest and less known locations of the wharf. Of course, we will stop by the most famous residents of the area, the lively California sea lions located at Pier 39! The itinerary can be customized to your needs, feel free to contact me.
- We will meet at the base of Columbus avenue, cross with Montgomery, along which we will explore small alleys and notable venues - Feel like an artist at Vesuvio Cafe and learn about City Light Bookstore, a literary institution and designated landmark - Get a sip of local roasted coffee or taste some home made pastry - Enjoying the relaxed atmosphere at Washington Square Park - Have fun observing the California sea lions with Alcatraz island in the background - Step back in time with the old arcades at Musee Mecanique (temporary closed due to Covid) - Smell sourdough bread and steamed Dungeness crab - Take a look at the fishing boats behind the scene - Observe Cable Cars taking off and the Golden Gate Bridge in the distance - Treat yourself with a taste of chocolate at Ghirardelli Square This guided walking tour is designed for private groups, families, and can be customized to meet your preferences
