Welcome to beautiful San Francisco, the shining emerald city by the bay. As someone who leads Bay Area walks in a plethora of habitats, I love sharing the very best experiences with guests. I'm a Certified Master Interpreter with the National Park Service, and former Federal Ranger/Biologist with the US Fish and Wildlife Service, with decades of experience as a Volunteer and Education Coordinator; my training, enthusiasm, and unique wildlife and historical experience sets me apart. My guests comment on my extensive knowledge, sense of humor, and love of leading tours. I lead guests to local parks like Muir Woods, and also far afield like the mountains, coastline, and deserts. In my free time, I enjoy singing, hiking, and studying creatures from the ancient past. I'm also a lecturer and teacher, with an MS in Mass Communication from Boston University, and a BA in World Arts and Cultures from UCLA.

Walk into the heart of this magnificent work of art with a knowledgeable guide who brings its history to life and helps you spot whales, peregrines, and pelicans. Explore Fort Point with a ranger who worked there. Join me, James A., BA/MS, a former National Park Service Master Interpreter and Environmental Educator, who knows local wildlife, leads you through lush environments, and shares insights others miss. I love every moment in these remarkable habitats, and you will too. Relax with birding, wildlife viewing, and more. Customized trips let you choose your ideal destination. Immerse yourself in nature with a fun ranger/biologist who has studied, and often handled, these incredible creatures. Discover what life was like for the Ramaytush, Yelamu, and the Conquistadors. "Our family loved our experience with ranger James." — Ivaan N., Kolkata, India

Fort Point is the red brick fort at the base of the southern mooring of the Golden Gate Bridge (on the San Francisco side of the straight). Meet in front of the large gates. I listed the standardized tour. If you wish to personalize your tour, please contact me.
