Three Hour New York Central Park Art and Food Tour

What is more iconic than a hot dog in Central Park? That's the first thing I did when I moved to New York City to attend art school for my MFA! I taught drawing and sculpture for many years, and enjoy giving the gift of art. You will have a short and fun art lesson (either at your hotel or in the park), where I will show you relaxation exercises, and all the tricks and tips you need to make you a master in not time. We will make our way to Central Park, and sample Italian ice, because hard work needs a little reward! We will then draw en plein air (outside) in one of the most beautiful spots in New York City. This will be a unique souvenir that you will cherish forever. When you are done making your masterpiece, you will get the ultimate payoff: a world-famous New York-style hot dog! Join me to create your own New York artwork!

I will meet you at your hotel with art supplies (pencils, charcoal, color pencils, and wipes to clean your hands!), and start with a drawing lesson which I based on my classroom experience. You will learn: - How to relax about drawing, and art in general - How to make a rubbing to create a unique background for your drawing - How to use simple tricks and tips to improve your skills: working from general to specific, how to use sighting for accuracy, and how to take measurements Depending on where your hotel is, we will head to the park, and choose a spot that suits your preferences. We can draw from the statue of Alice in Wonderland, the statue of famed sled-dog Balto, the boathouse, the Bow Bridge, or people enjoying the park! The possibilities are yours! Once you feel your drawing is complete, you will have your ultimate reward: a hot dog in the park, with or without onions and ketchup!
