Traveling has always been in my blood. First as a tourist, then for work and now, from the other side as a guide. I have lived, worked and loved in this wonderful metropolis and consequently I now help people discover New York City through the eyes of a Local. Here's my story in a nutshell: After graduating from San Francisco Conservatory of Music, I toured the world as an opera singer and settled in New York City over 30 years ago (I know! Time flies when you're having fun. . . In the "second act" of my life I shared my passion between teaching Voice, and investing. I have worked in the financial markets, saw the internet bubble from the inside and the financial crisis from a little too close. . . if you know what I mean. In the third act, I had children bringing light and life into my household and a strong desire to educate started to grow in me. A life long passion for history found its way through Tour Guiding. Since the year 2005, guiding tourists (and sometimes even locals!) through my city has been less than a job and more of a passion. If you want a unique experience, lively conversations on a wide range of topics and funny anecdotes about New York City, look no further. I can conduct my tours in either English or French, or both if you wish! I am looking forward to being your guide and maybe you'll join me in an aria or two. Overview of your New York City tour
On Liberty Island you will be treated with a hefty dose of pride and anecdotes around the most popular statue in the world! You will have the option to visit the pedestal and, you will have access to the brand new interactive museum (included) as well as all of the grounds for out-of-this-world picture opportunities! I will guide you around this magnificent monument while showing you some of my favourite sites that can be viewed from the island. You might even be able to catch a glance at the Queen Mary II making its bi-monthly stop in the harbour. Afterwards you'll have the option and flexibility to either continue your journey to a Self-Guided Tour on Ellis Island or simply return to your departure point... The choice is yours! Don't forget to take pictures, all your friends will be jealous!
Your New York City tour itinerary
·After meeting in front of the Starbucks at the corner of State and Pearl, we'll head to the ferry station to get on board towards Liberty Island. ·On arrival you'll visit the grounds, the pedestal, and potentially the crown (if you requested a reservation far enough in advance), plus the island's interactive museum with 3 interactive galleries. ·Afterwards, you'll re-board the ferry (at the same place where it left us prior) and either head off to Ellis Island for a Self-Guided visit or simply return to land.
