NYC Walking Tour From History to Hipster Greenwich Village

Tour the village, the mecca of underground music, theater, and history. One of the oldest neighborhoods in New York City dating back to the 1700s. Greenwich Village offers diverse foods, experimental theater and the oldest saloon in NYC. We will begin in Washington Square Park the center of the Village and NYU. We will wander thru the park discussing the history and how it came to be a central destination to performers and protestors. We will talk about the factory that changed factory workers rights and how Cooper Union came to be. I will share what it was like working in the area in the big 80s and the arts organization I work for here. The birthplace of punk rock, coffeehouses and many waves of immigrants. We will see such landmark sites such as Washington Square Park, Cooper Union, the Astor Cube, the Colonnade Row and more. Not to motion the diverse foods and bars. Come and discover it all with me.
