With so many places to visit and an extensive subway system, I know New York City can feel overwhelming. There's nothing I love more than helping someone feel at ease and have a great experience exploring the amazing areas of New York. I'm a licensed NYC tour guide offering private, personalized, and fun full and half day neighborhood walking tours for families and small groups. With every tour, I aim to help people learn to navigate around town, hear great stories, capture wonderful photos, laugh a lot, and make amazing memories together. I am passionate, energetic, quick-witted, and love making people say "wow" at all the sites. I'm originally from Orlando, FL, but have lived in numerous places, including San Francisco, Atlanta, and even Sydney, Australia. Prior to becoming a guide, I worked for years helping well-respected non-profit organizations tell their stories and raise funds to support their critical work. For the past 11 years, my wife and I have called New York City home. We absolutely love living here and are always out exploring the city. I'm also a Broadway fanatic seeing more than 100 shows a year and am happy to offer suggestions for what to see and the best way to get tickets. It'll be an amazing day out in the city for you and your traveling companions. I can't wait to meet you. Midtown Manhattan is the vibrant commercial center of New York City with skyscrapers aplenty, shopping galore, and an energy that never seems to end. Filled with icons like the New Year’s Eve Ball and Grand Central Terminal, Midtown is where the “action is” and has been for more than a century. You’ll definitely need your camera at the ready for this stroll through New York’s iconic city blocks. On this tour, we also visit the mysterious "Island of the Undesirables" Roosevelt Island with its fascinating history, serene atmosphere, and stunning city views. I once lived on Roosevelt Island. To me, it's the secret of the city. Most New Yorker's have never been there and are missing out for sure. Plus, you get there by flying through the sky in an overhead cable car called the Roosevelt Island Tram! My tours are very family friendly. Bring on the kids!
On this tour, we will: - Find out how Times square got its name. - Learn about what’s buried beneath Bryant Park. - Try out Grand Central Terminal's coolest secret. - See where the famous Rockefeller Christmas Tree is located. - Ride in the sky on the Roosevelt Island Tram. - The tour will end in back at the Roosevelt Island Tram at 60th St and 2nd Avenue in Midtown. Guests will have time for photos throughout. There are opportunities to stop for restrooms and snacks at several points along the way as well. * This itinerary can be customized upon request. I will either meet you in your hotel lobby or guest residence. If it makes more sense to meet at a central location, I will coordinate that location with you in advance (and give directions.)
