Overview of your Southampton tour
Make the most of your journey from Southampton to London with a guided tour of Stonehenge & Salisbury Cathedral on route. Our first stop will be Salisbury Cathedral. This amazing cathedral was built in just 38 and years stands 404 feet high. Salisbury Cathedral is home to the best surviving copy of the Magna Carta, the worlds oldest working clock and the wonderful 'Living Font'. From Salisbury we we head to Stonehenge. On route to Stonehenge I will tell you the history of this World Heritage site. Why we think it is here, who built it, how they built it and why they built it. On arrival at Stonehenge I will take you through and talk about the new visitor centre. We will then go outside to see the recreation of the houses where the builders of Stonehenge lived before heading down to the stone circle where I will tell you more about what you are seeing. When we leave Stonehenge you can sit back and enjoy the English countryside as we head to London.
Your Southampton tour itinerary
Meet and greet at Southampton docks. Travel to Salisbury Cathedral. Journey time about 1 hour. Enjoy a guided tour of the cathedral. Lunch can be taken either in Salisbury or on route to Stonehenge. Journey time about 30 minutes. After lunch I will give you a guided tour of Stonehenge. Travel to your destination in London or Heathrow Airport. Journey time around 2 hours.
