Hi! I'm Neslihan, and Istanbul has been my classroom for nearly 20 years. I've been a licensed professional guide since 2008 — and I still discover something new every time I'm out with a guest. My background is a little unusual: I studied tour guiding, business, media communications, and history — two degrees, two diplomas. Then I pursued a master's degree at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences (HSLU) in Switzerland, which gave me a very different perspective. I learned how Western visitors think, what surprises them, and what they actually want to understand about a city like Istanbul. I also spent time in Argentina learning Spanish, which taught me that the best way to connect with people is through stories, not facts. When you're on tour with me, I won't recite dates and names. I'll tell you what was really going on behind the palace walls, why the city looks the way it does, and what the monuments meant to the people who built them. History doesn't have to feel like a lesson — it just needs the right storyteller. I'd love to show you my city. Let's make it a day you actually remember.

For 400 years, Topkapı Palace was the beating heart of the Ottoman Empire — home to sultans, intrigues, and secrets that still echo through its courtyards. Most visitors walk through and see beautiful rooms. I'll show you what actually happened inside them. We'll explore the palace together, including the Harem — the private world behind closed doors where empires were made and broken. Then we move to Hagia Sophia, where I'll unravel 1,500 years of layered history: Byzantine, Ottoman, and everything in between. This is a private tour — just your group and me, at your pace. Every question welcome, every story worth telling.
- Meeting point: Hotel lobby, cruise port, or German Fountain in Sultanahmet Square. Just let me know your preference at booking. - Topkapı Palace: We enter the palace grounds and move through the Imperial Gate, the Second and Third Courtyards. I'll bring to life the sultans, the viziers, and the power struggles that shaped an empire. - Harem: We visit the private quarters where history's most dramatic stories unfolded. Harem ticket paid separately by guests. - Hagia Sophia: Byzantine mosaics, Ottoman additions, and 1,500 years of layered history — I'll tell you what most guides summarize in two sentences. - Drop-off: Hotel, port, or anywhere that suits you.
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
This is a walking tour between Topkapı Palace and Hagia Sophia — both sites are within easy walking distance of each other in the Old City. If your meeting point is away from Sultanahmet, such as a hotel in another neighborhood or a cruise port, we can take a taxi or public transportation together to reach the area. Transport costs are not included in the tour price.
