Hello travelers, I grew up with the idea of exploring the world. Before becoming a licensed tour guide I traveled a lot, worked in a cruise ship in the USA, walked Camino de Santiago French and Portuguese trails in Europe, visited every single museum in small towns, watched musicals, theaters, enchanted with art and history, experienced corporate business life for about 11 years, studied International Relations and astrology along with tour guiding. I met people from all around the world, some(eg Kiribati Republic) that I have never heard of before. My passion for exploring always continued with people, my inner self and now with my city. This two days tour will cover all for a first time visitor in Istanbul. Historical peninsula with museums, mosques and Bazaars, old and latest palaces of Ottoman Empire and the Bosphorus boat tour. Hagia Sophia, standing for 1500 years, charming every conqueror as Latins and Ottomans, guarded by Vikings, believed to be a spiritual portal by Christians and some Muslims, full of legends. . . Topkapi Palace was home, ivy league and a lady school, executive counsil and more for 400 years. What did happen exciting, weird or interesting during all those centuries? Basilica Cistern, protected or cursed by Medusa head. Is it really Medusa or Athena taking her revenge from both Poseidon and any women who gets closer to her man!. *Dolmabahce Palace is closed on Mondays, Topkapi Palace is closed on Tuesdays, Grand Bazaar is closed on Sundays.
Mime was a great guide. We had her for two days and we got quite the education on Istanbul, its history, architecture and culture. She efficiently guided us through so many of the city's sites, explaining ever detail as we went. She made sure we were guided properly to our destinations when she left us and recommended some great places for us to dine. Mine is also patient, kind and just fun to be with. Two days with Mine were fantastic! If history is your thing, she is the guide for you. So full of information, and we could tell, love of her country. While guiding us around, she used our time so wisely. She knew which places were most crowded at certain times of the day and guided us so that we barely wasted any time waiting in lines. She also understood that we didn't want to use our time with a big, long lunch, preferring to see sights. We highly recommend Mine!
Mine provided the most pleasant experience to my family. We have spent two fun and highly interesting days with her in Istanbul. Her deep knowledge of the city and its history was phenomenal. Her experience shows through an efficient use of the time and avoidance of long lines. She is the best guide we have ever had in our travels.
