I still keep my first passion of guiding each and every single day. My excitement to my country and its historical treasures kept me outstanding to my profession. My point is to have my guests breathe the spirit of the country with its historic, cultural, archeological, traditional and local values. To hang around with me will make your visit to Turkey as memorable as possible for the rest of your life. Let's discover Turkey together so that you could see one country, but a thousand world. This half-day private Byzantine tour will give you the historic background of Constantinople from the beginning of the story. You will discover the city '' Byzantion '' from 7th century B. C. Since it's believed that the first settlers of the city were from Megara (south of Athens) under the leadership of Byzas, that's why the name ''Byzantion ''(place of Byzas) was given to the city. While walking through the Hippodrome, try to hear the scream of the crowd during the games and picture how some asked for mercy in your mind. As being an art lover, discover the frescoes of St. Sophia with me. Whenever I step into Sophia, I still keep discovering more. As its name means ''Holy Wisdom'', Sophia still keeps her secrets for the visitors. Let's re-discover them together and then figure out why it's my favorite construction in the world. Do you also wonder about the story of Medusa? If so, then you should wait until we go under.
-Start to explore Byzantine heritage by walking through ''Hippodrome'' where you can feel the glories of gladiators'. See Egyptian Obelisk (also known as ''Theodosius Column''), Serpentine Column, Constantine Column, and German Fountain. -After Hippodrome, head to St. Sophia (''Hagia Sophia'' in Greek) which is the most impressive construction in the world. Discover a building where you cannot compare to any other in the world. Try to explore the mystery of Emperor Justinian. -Go under the ground to explore the amazing water reservoir of Romans from 532 A. D. to remember where the movie ''INFERNO '' ended up. -At the end of the tour, visit the Mosaic Museum of Great Palace where you will be able to see the beautiful ground and wall mosaics. *Since Mosaic Museum is closed on Monday, this tour cannot be operated only on Monday in the original form of the itinerary. If you would like to run this tour on Monday, we can switch Mosaic Museum either with Grand Bazaar or Spice Market up to your request.
