Shopping in Istanbul is another type of fun, as it is a real treasure hunt. We will not only shop, we will learn a lot about the ancient Turkish arts, meet the artisans, some rare artists and listen to the most interesting stories. From Grand Bazaar to Spice Market, secret shops to antique markets, you will take a peek at Istanbul's local life with lots of treasures along the way! Ayfer led us to truly unique merchants in the grand bazaar that we surely would have been too overwhelmed to have found ourselves. It was a nice touch that she was personally familiar with them as well. More importantly she was very friendly to us and brought a warmth to our day.
Ayfer was a very informative about the history of the Grand Bazaar as well as being knowledgable of many of the merchants. She listened to our priorities and guided us to appropriate merchants. She also guided us to a few areas that we hadn't considered like calligraphy, which proved very interesting. Ayfer is an energetic , knowledgable person. It was a pleasure to spend time with her.
Ayfer is a most excellent local tour guide, very knowledgeable about history and architecture. She arranged an airport taxi and a hammam visit which was most appreciated. I would highly recommend her service as an Istanbul guide and my visit was enriched by her and would hire her again.
