We wanted to get to know Istanbul’s from a local and a knowledgeable perspective; Ali provided that on our 3-day custom tour. We explored Istanbul, from the grand sights of the Roman, Byzantine, Ottoman and modern periods, to a cruise on the Bosphorus, that included palaces, mosques, churches, and local markets/shops, along with some local neighborhoods; Edirnekapi, Faner-Balat, and UsKudar. Through Ali’s personal perspective and unbelievable knowledge, we truly got to fully experience each architectural sight and district, where he provided insights to Istanbul’s religious, culture, and related that to the historical context of these wonders and neighborhoods. Beyond the tourist areas, Ali shared the local markets where prices were about half those in the tourist areas.

We have been very fortunate indeed to have spent the last 4 days with Ali. We leave Istanbul with wonderful and treasured memories and an appreciation of the rich, diverse culture and history of this beautiful city. Ali has shared his vast knowledge of history, culture, architecture, all things Turkish and he certainly knew the very best places to eat. He has guided us to all parts of Istanbul, he is passionate about his home city and very understanding of our special needs.

5 stars is not enough to describe our 3 days with Ali! He was prompt and responsive with all communication and was always early and waiting for us. The van was clean and the driver was amazing. We explored all the mosques and monuments and Ali's stories made them come alive and made sense of an amazing city with a complex and rich history. We explored many neighborhoods and was guided to the best shops and enjoyed eating delicious lunches locally. The Bosphorus cruise was truly a highlight. Thanks Ali

Ali was an incredible tour guide. He was always arriving on time and knew exactly where to go and went to be at certain places. He helped us navigate through the city with ease. He's an ex tentatively knowledgeable historian and can carry on conversation at many levels depending on your interest in world history, especially as it relates to the ottoman empire, Istanbul, Middle East, Europe and Asia. Ali was tremendous. Tours by locals totally delivered!

Ali is a very well-informed guy. He knew and explained everything about Istanbul-Turkey. We had an EXCELLENT time with him. Recommend him 1000%.
