This is a walking tour of the the old city which has the most visited highlights. This tour is for the visitors who have only limited time in the city, and who are available for the evening (due to meetings or layover hours) So even if you have limited time in Istanbul do not miss to see the historical sites and taste local foods and even have time for some shopping. Since it is after 06:00 pm some sites may be closed and we can see them from outside. The itinerary is scheduled as below, but I can make any changes according to your interest.
Wonderful, private evening tour of the Old City! Family of 5 from the U.S. on a 24-hour layover with a goal of visiting the Blue Mosque and Basilica Cistern, walking by the Hagia Sophia and other sites/ monuments and eating a traditional Turkish meal. Cicek helped us accomplish all in style with historical, cultural and culinary insights an added bonus!
We had an amazing tour with Cicek. She was very responsive when I contacted her and was flexible with our start time. We had about 3 1/2 hours of a very educational walking tour through the old city. Cicek was incredibly knowledgeable and let us ask lots of questions. Istanbul is a lovely and very safe city and we were thrilled to have such a great tour in the 24 hours we were there. And she dropped us at the most wonderful restaurant for dinner after the tour. Highly recommend.
Cicek is a wonderful tour guide who is adaptable, friendly, & knowledgeable. We had an overnight transit and planned to start a tour at 9pm. Due to a flight delay we only started after 10pm. Nevertheless, she gave us the full 3 hours and more ending way past 1 am. As it was late many things were closed. She went out of her way to ensure we did everything we wanted in the old city (photos etc), gave a great historical overview & hunted for an ice cream vendor so my daughters could play the ice cream game!
We can meet in the old city any time you like between 06:00 pm and 08:00 pm. We will make an orientation of the old city. We will see : 1- Blue Mosque (from outside) 2- Hagia Sophia (from outside) 3- Cistern (open between 07:30 - 22:00) 4- Hipodrome 5- Arasta Bazaar 6- Dinner in a traditional restaurant
