Istanbul Private Tour - Two Day Tour

5 stars A wonderful experience. We can highly recommend a tour with Afner. We could not possibly have learned as much about Istanbul’s rich and complex history, as well as life in the city today, on our own. Afner is incredibly knowledgeable, warm, friendly, and clearly knows and loves Istanbul. Both historical and social, especially our visit to Asian side! We had a wonderful two day tour with Ayfer. The first day we looked at historical sites, and she had great stories about all of them. Plus, she was able to answer every question we asked. On the 2nd day we explored some neighborhoods which was very enlightening and not something we would have ever done on our own. By the end of our time together, it felt like we had been in Istanbul to visit a friend rather than just being given a tour. Ayfer also had several suggestions for things we could do in the evenings after the tours were over, and every single one was a home run.

Ayfer was very flexible in arranging our visits so that we saw only what we wanted to learn about. She was very knowledgeable about three less-visited museums that we wanted to see, Archaeology, Pera and Islamic Culture. She is fluent in English, knows the city well, has a very pleasant manner and is easy to talk to. We thoroughly recommend her. (Note: she charges per person, not per group, and so is more affordable for couples than for large groups.)

My family genuinely enjoyed our time in Istanbul. This is not possible with the wealth of knowledge from Ayfer. She is down to Earth and knows the culture enough very well.
