Hi! I'm Neslihan, and Istanbul has been my classroom for nearly 20 years. I've been a licensed professional guide since 2008 — and I still discover something new every time I'm out with a guest. My background is a little unusual: I studied tour guiding, business, media communications, and history — two degrees, two diplomas. Then I pursued a master's degree at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences (HSLU) in Switzerland, which gave me a very different perspective. I learned how Western visitors think, what surprises them, and what they actually want to understand about a city like Istanbul. I also spent time in Argentina learning Spanish, which taught me that the best way to connect with people is through stories, not facts. When you're on tour with me, I won't recite dates and names. I'll tell you what was really going on behind the palace walls, why the city looks the way it does, and what the monuments meant to the people who built them. History doesn't have to feel like a lesson — it just needs the right storyteller. I'd love to show you my city. Let's make it a day you actually remember.

Most visitors to Istanbul's Old City see the same postcard version — they queue, they photograph, they move on. My tours are different. In four hours, I'll take you into the living history most guides skip: forgotten corners of the Hippodrome, architectural secrets of Hagia Sophia, and stories the Blue Mosque's builders never wanted tourists to know. Halfway through, we'll pause at a historic café most travelers never find. Over Turkish coffee, I'll read your fortune from the grounds — the moment my guests remember most. This is a private tour: just your group and me. No rushing, no crowds, no script. If something catches your eye, we stop. Perfect for first-time visitors who want more than a checklist — and for those who feel they missed something the first time.
- Meeting point: Hotel lobby, cruise port, or German Fountain in Sultanahmet Square. Let me know your preference at booking. - Hippodrome of Constantinople: We begin here. Most visitors pass through without understanding what they're standing on — I'll change that. - Hagia Sophia: Byzantine mosaics, Ottoman layers, 1,500 years of history. I'll tell you the stories most guides skip. - Blue Mosque: We enter and I share the architect's secret rivalry with Mimar Sinan — it changes how you see the building entirely. - Turkish coffee & fortune telling: A hidden historic café. I'll read your fortune from the grounds — the stop guests remember most. - Hidden corners: Side streets and spots not in any guidebook, tailored to your interests. - Drop-off: Hotel, port, restaurant, or wherever suits you.
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
This is a walking tour through the Old City. If your meeting point is away from Sultanahmet — such as a hotel in another neighborhood or a cruise port — we can take a taxi or public transportation together to reach the starting area. Transport costs to the meeting point are not included in the tour price.
Istanbul, İstanbul, Türkiye
I offer three meeting options: • Hotel lobby: anywhere in central Istanbul — just share your address at booking. • Cruise port: I'll meet you at the exit. • German Fountain, Sultanahmet Square: easy to find, I'll be there 5 minutes early. Not sure? Message me and we'll figure it out.
