Umit provided a wonderful tour of Istanbul during our brief layover visit. He was very helpful and knowledgeable. He also seemed to know everyone! I wasn't sure what to expect, as our main planned trip was to France, and we just added this once we decided to fly with Turkish Airlines. It was definitely worth the extra time to visit this interesting city!

You will absolutely delight

Umit met us at our hotel near the Galata Tower, led us on a tram ride to the Old City and then a well-paced passage through: Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, the Hippodrome, Topkapi, the Archeological museum, the Basilica Cistern, and Grand Bazaar. His knowledge went well beyond guidebooks, adding a distinct Turkish perspective on the rich history of Istanbul. He was patient, of good humor, and responsive to our needs and requests. We feel very fortunate and would recommend him to all.

Umit was very knowledgeable and fun to tour with. He took us to his friend's restaurant Pudding Shop and we had a great time chatting with the owners about their families and history, with loads of laughs. He kept a comfortable pace for us and filled us with more facts than will ever remember, while sharing personal stories about his family and answering all our questions. At the end we felt very up to date with Turkey, Turkish history, and current events. We would recommend him to highly to friends!
