Hello! My name is Enrique and I was born and raised in Toledo. My love for my beautiful hometown started at a very young age, because my whole family has been guiding tours in Toledo for the last 50 years (my grandfather, my father, my uncle, my brother and my cousin!). I am so proud of continuing my family tradition, as an Official Tour Guide for the last 13 years now! My family and I have always lived in the historical district of Toledo, so I know every single corner in it! I really love my job, and every day is a gift to me. It is such a pleasure to make people understand a city with more than 2000 years of history! Plenty of monuments and historical spots, Toledo is entirely a UNESCO World Heritage site! But in my opinion, a good tour guide must be able to make his travellers enjoy the city, and not only by visiting the very important monuments, but also by getting to know the local traditions, manners, festivities, sweets, food and wines, etc. I love these kind of extras that will make you taste the real Toledo, and this is something easier to do in private tours for small groups (families, couples, . . . ), which is, by the way, what I like the most! I'm a very open minded and flexible person, so I can adapt the tour to your specific interests! Just let me know! It would be my pleasure to show you everything about Toledo! Regards, Enrique - Officially Licensed Tour Guide by the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha. - Degree in Tourism by the "Spanish Center for New Professions" (U.N.E.D. University, Madrid). I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

Although there were many important jewish communities in Spain until 1492, the one in Toledo was probably the most important one. On this tour, we will focus on the Jewish quarter, but we will also walk across the whole historical district of Toledo which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site on its entirety. You will feel like traveling back centuries by strolling through the city's timeless streets. We will visit 2 former Jewish synagogues together, one being the oldest one standing in our country, as well as the most important one in town in the middle ages. Inside it you will notice a clear arabic style. The other one, a highly decorated temple, has the peculiarity of now serving as the National Sephardic Museum. It's the last Synagogue that was built in Toledo. We'll also visit a Monastery, closely linked to the jewish community in Spain, since it's supposedly the burial place for the Catholic Monarchs, whose power in the middle ages famously lead to the community being expelled and forcibly converted.
If you're coming by train, we'd start the tour together from Toledo's Train Station, where I'd be waiting for you holding a sign with your name on it, so you could easily find me at the platform. If you're coming in a private vehicle, we could agree on an easy to find meeting point to start the tour from. -We'd start by doing a panoramic tour in a taxi (up to 3 travellers plus me) to enjoy the amazing views from the other side of the Tagus River and then get to the city center. If your were to come to Toledo in your own car, and there was an available seat for me, we could do this as well. -We'd then cross the entire historical district, focusing mostly on these 3 highlights: ·The Synagogue of Santa María la Blanca ·The National Sephardic Museum ·The Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes When we finish the tour, and in case you want to have lunch or dinner in Toledo, I can give my suggestions depending on what you like.
