For a graduate of Tourism with a degree in Art History, there is surely no better place to establish a career as a Tour Guide than in the marvelous city of Toledo. My vast work experience has taken me through the diverse sectors of the world of tourism and art (travel agencies, transfer escort, exhibit coordinator at Madrid's Reina Sofia Museum and accompanying group guide throughout Central Europe for twelve years). Experiences that have contributed to my cultural and professional development and that today add to my richness as an Official Tour Guide of Toledo, licensed by the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha. Overview of your Toledo tour
Without a doubt, the Jewish Quarter of Toledo was the most influential in medieval times and today still holds an important place in Sephardic culture on the Iberian Peninsula. Mandatory visits include: - Synagogue of El Tránsito or of Samuel Leví. A treasurer of Pedro I, King of Castile, misnamed "the Cruel One". It is the most beautiful existing example of Mudejar art in Toledo (closed on Mondays). - Synagogue of Santa María la Blanca, formerly the Main Synagogue in Toledo until it was converted into a church at the end of the 14th century. - Franciscan Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes. Located in the Jewish Quarter. A visit here is essential to understanding the connection between the Catholic Monarchs (the monastery was created as their burial site), and the last moments experienced by the Jewish community in Spain before their expulsion by the aforementioned monarchs. Even though the walking tour has the Jewish Quarter as a common thread I will make alussion to every important aspect of the city.

A very enjoyable tour
Your Toledo tour itinerary
If you are coming by train from Madrid (20 euros go and return) I will be waiting for you at the Toledo Train Station, or at the Bisagra Gate if coming by private car. If by train, we could make a panoramic tour with a taxi to get to the Jewish Quarter and enjoy the wonderful panoramic view from the other side of the Tagus river (11 euros per taxi. 4 people per taxi). Or, we could get to the old town by walking in a beautiful 15 minutes walk. The Jewish Quarter is on the other side of the old town, but on our way we will pass by some important monuments such as the Cathedral of Toledo or Santo Tomé church, that could be visited if you are interested in.

The best way to get to the Jewish Quarter from the train station is by taxi, so we could have a panoramic tour around the city to enjoy the wonderful view from the other side of the river (11 euros).
