Hello! Growing up in Oklahoma I frequently visited my Spanish family. I moved to Madrid in 1992 and then to Barcelona in 2001 where I first worked in fashion retail. In 2009, after passing the Official Guide Exam in Catalonia I provided tours there until 2020. I now live in Toledo, Spain where my mother's family is from. I guide here and in the greater Madrid area. My university degree is in Retail Merchandising, and I minored in Greek and Roman History. I also have CELTA certification for teaching English to foreign learners. I consider myself an "all-terrain" guide. I enjoy doing all sorts of tours from foodies to wine to sports and the like. My primary areas of interest are history, architecture, and art. I am passionate about Toledo, the city of three cultures: Jewish, Catholic, and Muslim. I've guided numerous religious groups of many faiths. Jewish heritage tours are of special interest to me as Spain and Toledo have a rich Sephardic history. I enjoy meeting people from all around the world with their varied customs and beliefs. Showing people my country is a pleasure! 1989 BS in Retail Merchandising and Minor in Humanities from the University of Central Oklahoma. 1992 Semester abroad Southern Methodist University In Highland Park Texas. Course in Spanish culture. 1997 CELTA certificate in Teaching English to Foreign Learners 2008 Classes in Tourism Institute Prat. Barcelona 2009 Course for Tourist Guide of Catalonia at Institute Prat in Barcelona 2009 Tourist Guide of Catalonia accreditation BGB Barcelona Guide Bureau Continuing education through seminars and tours. 2010 2020 APIT Barcelona Association of Professional Guides of Catalonia Continuing education through seminars and tours. 2016-2020 AGUICAT Association of Tourist Guides of Catalonia. Toledo the City of 3 Cultures. This age old city is UNESCO World Heritage site. In addition to the most popular routes and monuments there are other enchanting trails a little off the beaten path yet interesting to discover. On a lovely hike along the trail by the river Tagus, we will see different historical sites and remains. Dating from bronze age through Middle Ages, 16th century and the 19th century. Surround yourself in nature, with many treelined trams and a variety of birds can be seen swimming in the river or flying by the striking cliffs. A tour that attracts second time visitors or those spending a few days in Toledo, as well as for those who may wish an alternative to the highlights. Put on your walking shoes or hiking boots and let's go! I can customize this tour to your request.
