Korea folk village is a living museum type of tourist attraction in the city of Yongin, a satellite city in the Seoul Metropolitan Area in the province of Gyeonggi in South Korea. This place is a popular tourist destination for both Koreans and foreigners. It is located near Everland, South Korea's largest amusement park. The purpose of this Village is to display elements of traditional Korean life and culture. There are multiple sections to the park. There are numerous replicas of traditional houses of the different social classes (peasant, landowner) from various regions. -UNESCO World Heritage, Hwaseong Fortress- Suwon Hwaseong Fortress was constructed by king Jeongjo (reigning 1777~1800), the 22nd king of Joseon dynasty (1392-1910) after moving the tomb of his father Sadoseja. it has Paldalmon gate(Treasure No. 402), Hwaseomun gate(Treasure No. 403), Janganmun gate, etc. The Suwon Hwaseong Fortress was chosen to be registered as an UNESCO World Heritage in Dec 1997.
Denny was a fantastic guide for my day trip from Seoul to see the Suwon Fortress and Korean Folk Village. He was very personable and knowledgeable about the history of both places. When it came time for lunch he was able to suggest a place for lunch that could accommodate my many dietary restrictions. I would highly recommend Denny for a tour!
Spending the day with Denny was a real highlight of our trip. From the moment we started, he made everything feel easy and comfortable, taking care of all the transportation so we could simply enjoy the experience. Visiting the Korean Folk Village, the traditional market, Suwon Fortress, and the small museum felt special because of how thoughtfully he explained the history and stories behind each place. His knowledge came across naturally, never scripted, and you could feel how much he genuinely enjoys sharing Korean culture. Denny was kind, patient, and attentive, always making sure we were comfortable and having a good time. It felt less like a tour and more like being shown around by a local friend. I would recommend Denny without hesitation to anyone who wants an authentic, memorable experience in Korea.

We really enjoyed the tour to Korean Folk Village and Suwon Fortress. Denny also brought us to a really good fried chicken restaurant for lunch and seafood restaurant for dinner. Thanks again, Denny!
Another wonderful day with Denny as our guide for the Suwon Fortress and the Korean Folk Village. Both places are full of Korean history and Denny brought this history alive thru his knowledge. There was so many beautiful places to see at the Suwon Fortress and Denny made sure we spent time at all. The Korean Folk Village was a great place full of culture and history. We highly recommend this tour with Denny - you will not be disappointed.
