Hello and welcome to South Korea! I joined ToursByLocals in 2024 and was honored with a 2026 Golden Guide Award for my DMZ tours delivering the most well-structured and immersive experiences during a single day. Before becoming a tour guide, I traveled extensively around the world and within Korea. Prior to this, I spent 15 years working for multinational corporations. I also received my MS degree from a renowned university in the United States. I love not only traveling, but hiking, camping, fishing, skiing, and photography. Seoul is huge but it is a unique modern city where the new and the old exist in harmony. Visit the finest heritage sites of ancient Seoul within a day. Changdukgung Palace is the most beautiful palace in Korea and designated as a UNESCO Heritage with its rear garden. You can choose Kyunbokgung palace instead. Guard Changing Ceremony shows the 15th century royal guards with various weapons, flags, and outfits. This is absolutely a must-see in Seoul. Bukchon Hanok village is where people live in traditional Korean houses. Insadong used to be a place to buy ancient books & antiques. Now you can enjoy diverse aspect of Korean culture and food. This tour can be customized to fit your needs. If you would like to visit hidden places of Seoul, just ask Oliver. If you haven't heard Seochon or Bukaksan mountain, or want to have a cup of coffee at a cafe with a nice view of the city and the mountains, this is your best chance to find out.
Unsuk (Oliver) is a friendly and knowledgeable guide who was very accommodating to our multigenerational group. He showed us all of the best parts of Seoul. Our favorite stops were actually places we didn’t originally have on our list. I highly recommend him for a personalized and comfortable tour of Seoul.
Oliver was communicative right from when I booked the private tour. He was early to pick us up from our Airbnb. He was great at explaining the history of Korea during the tour and answering all of our questions (5adults, 1 teen and 2 kids). He catered to all of our requests and needs and even helped us order food at NoRangjin Fish Market. He gave us great restaurant recommendations and places where we can visit near our Airbnb for other days we are in town. The van was clean, very comfortable and cool with functioning AC in really hot June weather. He was a great and safe driver. He provided water bottles for my family. I highly recommend Oliver as a private tour guide in Seoul!

This was the best tour I’ve ever taken. Oliver was the perfect guide. He was so organized and helped us maximize our time in Seoul. We learned so much as we toured the palace, museum, Hanok village, and more. Oliver let us go at our own pace and was able to accommodate our preferences, but still had great suggestions that kept our day full and interesting. His vehicle was clean and comfortable for our large group. Oliver even helped us with other accommodations while we were in Seoul. Highly recommend Oliver’s tour!
Since we had a limited amount of time in Seoul, we had hired Oliver to give us an overview of the city and the major tourist sites. He did an outstanding job, taking us exactly where we wanted to go, giving us a fantastic day that we will remember for a long, long time! He is extremely flexible, and crafted our day based on our requests and his knowledge of the area. His English is excellent, and we had no issues communicating whatsoever. I recommend him without reservation!
Our guide Unsuk( Oliver) was outstanding. Very knowledgeable about Korea both ancient and modern. He has an excellent command of the English language and explains carefully. He drove us all over in his very comfortable van, and made sure we saw all the sights we had in mind. We highly recommend his tour.
Pick up from the agreed location in Seoul city center, then visit the places below: - The Guard Changing Ceremony at Kyungbokgung Palace - Kyungbokgung Palace or Changdukgung Palace (UNESCO Heritage) - Insadong - Bukchon Hanok Village or Namsan Hanok Village - Add other places in Seoul such as Namsan N Tower, Gwangjang Market, Myeongdong, etc. - transfer back to the agreed ending point If Changdukgung Palace is closed for any reason, we will visit Gyungbokgung Palace. (Mostly Mondays) Kyungbokgung palaces closes on Tuesdays.
