Scenic Tour of Amador Causeway + Biomuseo

Panama City is one of the few places in the world where you can go from a world-class museum to a scenic coastal causeway to a Smithsonian nature reserve, all in one day. We'll start at the Biomuseo, located on the Amador Causeway and designed by architect Frank Gehry, his only project in Latin America. The museum's immersive exhibits tell the story of Panama's unique biodiversity as the land bridge of the Americas. From there, we'll take a casual bike ride along the Causeway, soaking in panoramic views of the Panama Canal, the Pacific Ocean, and the city skyline. We'll continue to Punta Culebra Nature Center, a Smithsonian-operated reserve with marine exhibits and nature trails, before wrapping up with lunch at one of Amador's local eateries — renowned for fresh seafood and ceviche. — Biomuseo (1.5 hours) We begin at Frank Gehry's iconic rainbow-roofed museum, exploring galleries on Panama's biodiversity, the geological formation of the isthmus, and the extraordinary wildlife exchange between North and South America. — Amador Causeway stroll (45 min) We walk (with an option to bike) along the Causeway at a relaxed pace, taking in sweeping views of the Panama Canal entrance, the Pacific Ocean, and the Panama City skyline — one of the best photo opportunities in the city. — Punta Culebra Nature Reserve (1 hour) A Smithsonian-operated open-air nature center with marine touch tanks, forest trails, endangered amphibian exhibits, and a lookout point with telescope views of passing Canal ships. Sloths, birds, and lizards are commonly spotted along the trails.
