Gatun Lake Expedition and Hiking at the Rainforest

Great half day away from the city. Enjoyed the boat tour with visits along the central region of the canal to the monkey islands. The white faced monkeys were the friendliest climbing onto boat to enjoy offered grapes and small peanuts out of our hands. Howlers stayed up in trees as a group and shouted their territorial howls at the boat below. Nice small crowd 3 tourists and 2 guides on one boat. Very pleasant morning. Path trail was different and not difficult for an older traveler like myself.

Tour was fantastic. Miguel did an amazing job, every was planned out perfect. On the lake tour we saw 3 different kinds of monkeys, bats, iguanas and a variety of birds. He did an excellent job, highly recommend.

highly recommend. We were promptly picked up at the airport and had a fantastic day in Panama City. We only had 1 day and saw both the canal and monkey island. Miguel was an outstanding guide, accommodated my children and taught us so much.

There was a bit of a mix up initially, as our tour guide Miguel was late. We called him, and he arrived about 20 minutes later. We made it to Monkey Island, and saw Howler monkeys, White-faced capuchins, and Geoffroy's tamarins. We didn't have enough time to go to Metropolitan Park as planned. Miguel took us to Soberania National Park, which was on our way back to our hotel. We enjoyed the hike there, and Miguel offered to take us to our cruise port. It turned out to be a very enjoyable tour!

It was a pleasure to spend the day with Miguel. He is highly knowledgeable, interesting, courteous, helpful and flexible. For example, when one restaurant we stopped at for lunch was full with a busload of tourists, he quickly found another, more suitable restaurant nearby. Also, his English is perfect. The tour itself was excellent, with the visit to the canal and Gatun Lake complementing each other and both were within an easy drive. I was more than satisfied and highly recommend Miguel.
