Had a great time fishing on Gatun Lake with Juan. Caught peacock and tiger bass, visited the monkeys, and enjoyed the rainforest and canal scenery. Juan was an excellent guide and provided lots of history about Panama. Thank you, Juan!
Nice day fishing (which was my objective) but also had a very informative discussion of Panamanian history in general and the Panama Canal in particular. Juan was prompt, communicative and helpful. The scenery was gorgeous, the boat clean and well organized and the boat captain very helpful. Nice day all around.
We had a great time on our tour of Gatun Lake today. Juan Jose took us on a great fishing trip on a beautiful lake, where we caught half a dozen good sized bass. We also visited some Capucin monkies and checked out the birds and other wildlife. Afterwards, he took us to the fish market and a restaurant, where they cooked our fish for us - delicious! Juan Jose is friendly, knowledgeable and competent. I highly recommend his services.
We not only got to fish (and catch) on the lake, but he took us to feed the monkeys with peanuts from our hands, and pointed out other wild life on the lake - so was also a nature tour in addition to the fishing trip. We got to eat the fish we caught for lunch - great day! Thanks Juan!
We had a fabulous time fishing with Juan Jose today. Not only did we catch more peacock bass than I could keep track of, but Juan helped us see 2 kinds of monkeys, a toucan, parrots, an iguana, and lots of special birds. His commentary while on the drive to the boat was comprehensive and interesting. The covered boat is larger then expected. We are on a 3 week cruise and have had many shore excursions. But hands down, today's time with Juan Jose beats them all.
