Clemente was outstanding from start to finish. He was punctual, friendly, personable, extremely knowledgeable, and tailored the entire experience to our interests and pace. Everything was perfectly timed and executed, yet never felt rushed. What impressed us most was how much we learned in such a short period of time. From watching huge ships transit the Panama Canal and visiting Miraflores, to cruising Gatún Lake and seeing ships pass remarkably close by, the day felt like a tour within a tour. Clemente added context and insight throughout that made everything we were seeing much more meaningful. The lake and Monkey Island experience was incredible, but Clemente himself made the entire day exceptional. He anticipated our needs, adjusted naturally to us, and made the experience feel genuinely personal rather than like a scripted tour. I start working as a guide 30 years ago, when I just got out of high school, dealing with sailors and yachters from all around the world. My job consisted of taking them around to the local officials to do their paper work in order to transit the Panama Canal. I also helped them find parts and supplies, linehandling there boats true the Canal. Years later, I stepped into another type of guiding, I started to drive a taxi and I usually offered my services at the local Hotels, taking the customers to places like Portobelo, San Lorenzo, Panama city and other places. I saw the necessity to Learn about these places, so I started buying and studying literature of the most visited sites in Panama, I made excursion almost all around the country. By the year 2000 with the arrival of cruise ships to the port of Colon 2000 and Cristobal, I started to offer my guiding services to the cruise ship passengers. I combined my passion for touring with my permanent job at the Panama Canal, I am a Panama Canal (the best goverment employer in the country) employee for almost 20 years. I born in Panama 49 years ago, I have lived all of my life in this bless country , married. I have six (6) kids (yes six!!!) four boys, two girls, love them all. I live in the country in a small town between Panama city and Colon. I believe that time is one of the biggest value a person have, for me guiding is not about the money, I love people and I love to take them around my country, at that moment I become an ambassador of Panama. Join on exciting 5 hours eco-adventure day tour along the Gatun Lake at the Panama canal , experience some of Panama's flora and fauna . We will drive you by car to Gamboa where you will hop aboard a high-speed motorboat and marvel at the beautifull Forrest that's grows around the panama canal. From the boat stay on the lookout for capuchin monkeys, toucans' sloths and wildlife animals.

Clemente was an excellent guide. He knew exactly where to take us so that we saw all that we wanted to see and avoided the crowds. He is very knowledgeable about the history of the canal and his insight made the tour more fun and interesting.
Clemente got us into the observation area for watching the Miraflores Locks open and close. The best was when he showed us how to get tickets on line so we could walk past the big ticket purchase line. We had an excellent boat tour in Gatun Lake and he and our boat driver found us toucans, three different species of monkeys and even arranged for the howler monkeys to how for us. Our extended lake and Monkey Island tour was a trade off for a walk/drive up Ancon Hill and stopping for lunch.
My husband and I had a great day experiencing the area around Panama City and learning about Panama and its people. Clemente was very knowledgeable and informative. We especially enjoyed the boat cruise on Gatun Lake. Clemente and the boat captain knew exactly where and how to find the monkeys!! If we ever get back to Panama City we will definitely book another day with Clemente.
Your Panama City tour itinerary
After meeting at your hotel, cruise ship, airport, etc. We drive to the Gamboa peer, where we would board a boat that will take us through part of the Panama Canal, where we will see at first hand, ships on transit, while we are on our way to the islands, on the look out for animals. After the boat ride, we go of for a hike to pipeline road or Ancon Hill (best view of Panama City and Canal from the top of the Hill) , at last we go to a local restaurant to have a traditional panamanian Lunch.
