Horacio was amazing! He was smart, bilingual, and easy to get along with. He was also a safe driver and got us easily where we needed to go. There were other people there in huge tour groups with full boats who barely got to see any monkeys, but we were up and close personal with several species of monkey. It was amazing!
Why we like Tours By Locals....the selection of tours offered, being able to customize our experience directly with the guides in advance, we LOVED their regional and specific knowledge, good English and politeness was the norm. About this tour...My husband and I enjoy nature, so adding some animal experience was important. This tour was fun and our guide, Horacio, sure knew where to find the monkeys and the rules of engagement to ensure the safety of the monkeys and the humans. Fun 1/2 day! AND Horacio shared a lot of the Eco efforts of Panama during our commutes to the motorized boat. He chose a delicious restaurant (overlooking Changres river with good prices for our lunch stop. We chose to treat our guides to lunch, daily.
Great tour! Fun to see the monkeys (and crocodiles), and to see and learn more about the Canal and Panama. Our guide Horatio was excellent. He was informative, and flexible as to our travel needs and the weather. He is also a good driver with a nice vehicle. Highly recommended.
We enjoyed a terrific day with Horacio. He was kind, friendly, informative, knowledgeable, and did his utmost to make our day memorable. We very much enjoyed boating about Gatun Lake and while the monkeys were not always cooperative, we did have a wonderful encounter which delighted my grandkids.
An excellent tour with Horacio. He’s super friendly, has a very nice luxury SUV, and came prepared with food to have us feed the monkeys which was so much fun! And the boat captain was terrific too. Highly recommended!
