I start working as a guide 30 years ago, when I just got out of high school, dealing with sailors and yachters from all around the world. My job consisted of taking them around to the local officials to do their paper work in order to transit the Panama Canal. I also helped them find parts and supplies, linehandling there boats true the Canal. Years later, I stepped into another type of guiding, I started to drive a taxi and I usually offered my services at the local Hotels, taking the customers to places like Portobelo, San Lorenzo, Panama city and other places. I saw the necessity to Learn about these places, so I started buying and studying literature of the most visited sites in Panama, I made excursion almost all around the country. By the year 2000 with the arrival of cruise ships to the port of Colon 2000 and Cristobal, I started to offer my guiding services to the cruise ship passengers. I combined my passion for touring with my permanent job at the Panama Canal, I am a Panama Canal (the best goverment employer in the country) employee for almost 20 years. I born in Panama 49 years ago, I have lived all of my life in this bless country , married. I have six (6) kids (yes six!!!) four boys, two girls, love them all. I live in the country in a small town between Panama city and Colon. I believe that time is one of the biggest value a person have, for me guiding is not about the money, I love people and I love to take them around my country, at that moment I become an ambassador of Panama. My Joy is to know people enjoy my tour and all I did to make sure they get all that I promise to deliver and more, having a good time. Overview of your Panama City tour

The Río Chagres, wich flows through the park and supplies most of the water for the Panama Canal his home to several Emberá communities. The enchanting journey takes us deep into the dense jungles of Chagres where the Embera Indians have lived for many years. Our adventure begin with a ride up the river in canoes, the Embera's traditional hand carved boats. On arrival to the village, you will be taken back in time as you observe the ancient Embera's dances and music that have hardly changed since Christopher Columbus arrived in the 1500's. The natives will invite you to explore the surrounding areas which are teaming birds and wildlife. The trek will take you through virgin jungle and sparkling waterfalls. During our visit, the Emberas will give you a glimpse into their mystical rituals and their amazing knowledge of medicinal plants and natural pigments. The Emberá women produce some of the finest baskets in the world, which are woven from palm fibers, and require several months of intensive labor.

I highly recommend this tour if you have an interest in learning about other cultures and experiencing a glimpse of their way of life. This tour took us into the very intimate setting of a small Embera Village. We ate traditional fried fish and tostones prepared by one of the village ladies, watched and participated in a traditional dance and learned about their humble way of life. Clemente was the perfect guide, translating and sharing details about the tribe's history.

Our tour of the Embera village exceeded our expectations thanks to Clemente. He is extremely knowledgeable, friendly and does his best to make your experience special. From pickup at our cruise ship to hotel dropoff all went smoothly. He even provided transfer from our hotel to the airport all wthout a hitch. I actually referred him to a fellow traveler looking for an adventure.
