I was born in Toronto, Canada, where I spent my first childhood years. Still a young child, my family decided to return to Turin on a back to the roots spur. After the transoceanic move and a few years, I graduated in languages (English, Spanish and French) and attained a postgraduate degree as an English/Italian interpreter and translator, by which I landed my first few 9 to 5 job for want of independence; shortly I realised I needed more adventure to my life and I studied and qualified to become a licensed tour guide and registered with the Regione Piemonte tour guide board. Taking that step instantly propelled me into the world of tour guiding and allowed me to co-found my own tour guide company. Those years forged my deep knowledge of Turin and the entire Piedmont region. I specialised as an organiser and supervisor for didactic trips concerned with archaeology, Egyptology, Modern and Contemporary Art and History of Risorgimento. Since then, taking care of groups of all sizes and nature and showing them around one of the most surprisingly interesting areas of Italy, Turin and its region, has become my mission. After a 8-year unforgettable experience in a team, it was time for me to go solo and since then I have increased my knowledge of the territory and its hotels, resorts, sightseeing spots and territorial bodies. I have specialised in press and educational trips for both private and public companies, and I have distinguished myself as a location and site manager and site producer for a number of television broadcasting companies shooting on location their programmes and documentaries. A key role position in the NBC television production as a tour guide and VIP welcoming and tours manager, together with a variety of trouble shooting and problem solving issues during the 2006 Winter Olympic Games, has allowed me to push my organisational skills and the ability to liaise with multicultural environments even further. My private walking tours and public tours around this corner of Italy have proved to be among the best on offer in Turin. And for the more curious eye, the following lists in detail the main companies I have worked for throughout the years: Olivetti & C. S. p. A. ; Osai A-B (Rockwell Group); Associazione Culturale Itineraria, founder partner; Time Out Guides Limited, contributor to the Turin Guide's first edition; Regione Piemonte, several and different collaborations; Discovery Channel, for programmes "Torino 2006 - The traveller's Guide", "Stranded with Cash Peters - Turin Episode"; NBC - New York Corporate Events, as VIP educational management and supervisor. And more adventure is to come… Certified Tour guide since 1994. Certified Tour manager since 1995.

Overview of your Turin tour

This is the best tour that will help you get your bearings in Torino's history and architecture. This overview walk includes stops at the city's most emblematic sites. This is the best bet for the curious eye. The Royal City of Turin (or Torino), undoubtedly Italy's best kept secret, was all but ignored for over a century even by the most discerning connoisseurs and academics. However, it is no longer stereotyped merely as a center of great industry or as the militaristic and unrefined base from which the late nineteenth-century Savoy dynasty unified the Italian peninsula.

Carol was an amazing guide. There was nothing she was unable to answer about Turin, and her love for the city shone through. She distilled everything into our tour possible and was charming and personable. If you are visiting Turin, you must use Carol as your guide. Best Garry L

Carol B’s tour of Turin was just what we wanted! It was our very first time to Turin and we wanted a general walking tour to get our bearings and also get recommendations for places to eat. We got it all and more. Carol gave us lots of history and added more info about the architecture when we expressed an interest in that. She also shared some of her favorite places to go. I very much recommend a tour with Carol — she is an absolute delight!

We have just spent three days with Carol touring around Turin and its environs. Carol is a delight. She expertly guided us to the sights that were of interest to us, providing us with interesting anecdotes as well as informative details about the House of Savoy and its enduring impact on Turin, Italy and the Europe. We have loved our stay in Turin, with Carol playing a major role in promoting our affection for the effortlessly elegant Torinese, their cuisine and the beauty of the Piedmonte region.

Carol S. is a dream guide. We wish Carol could clone herself and lead us through every travel spot in the world. Carol was a helpful communicator in our pre-travel planning. She set an easy meeting place and from the first moment was smart, funny, warm, and professional. Carol graciously absorbed our personal eccentricities and interests and proceeded to lead us through hours of a fascinating introduction to the history, art, architecture, customs, and delights of Turin. We saw monuments, palaces, churches, streetscapes, and unique shops, ending in a dazzling confectionary for an unforgettable meal. Everything Carol offered to our eager eyes was gilded in her storytelling gifts—always funny, personal, and interactive. Carol is the amazing guide anyone would be lucky to land in amazing Turin.

Carol was an amazing tour guide for our walking tour of Turin’s (Torino’s) city center. During our three hour tour, Carol helped us understand the full history of the city, from Roman times to the present. We toured all of the major sites (government, religious, education and commercial) and Carol provided some great, in-depth information to aDr even greater color to this underrated, but very beautiful, city. Highly recommend Carol! You won’t be disappointed!

Your Turin tour itinerary

- We will depart on a journey through time that will take us back 2000 years ago to Julia Augusta Taurinorum (that's Torino's Roman name) by walking through its northern gate - We will walk our way to the three baroque squares of Torino (Castello, Carignano and San Carlo) with their landmarks: Palazzo Reale, Palazzo Madama, Palazzo Carignano. Every "palazzo" has a story to tell because this city was the center of command of the Savoys and the first capital of Italy - last but not least, I will introduce you to Torino's historic cafés and chocolate niches. Please note that this is an estimate agenda of the tour, inclusive of highlights. I can customize this tour to your personal interests, so please let me know your preferences.
