On this private day tour with a true Torinese guide you will discover the grand history of the city through its main landmarks in the centre with an enjoyable and easy walk. I will share how the city has evolved from its ancient Roman origins, to its golden age in 17th century when the legendary Savoy family moved the capital of their Duchy from Chambery, France, to Turin, transforming it in one refined European city with magnificent palaces and squares. Walking under the elegant arches, we will see how Turin eventually became the first capital of Italy and was home to the first Parliament of the country. After being a hotspot during the industrial era of FIAT cars, the city gained back its pre-industrial vibe and is now regarded again as one of the most elegant and beautiful in Europe. During the tour you'll also have the opportunity to visit one of the main museums in town.
The exact itinerary can be customized to fit your interests. - In the morning we'll have a walking tour of the main sights in town, like Piazza Castello, where you'll admire the exterior of the Royal Palace, Palazzo Madama, and the Church of Saint Lawrence, we'll also see the Cathedral where the Holy Shroud is kept. - After a lunch break, the afternoon will be dedicated to the visit of a museum of your choice between: Royal Palace, Mole Antonelliana or Egyptian Museum. The tour runs hail or shine. Takes place both outdoors and indoors. Tickets for the museums are excluded from the price of the tour. Prices and closing days of museums: Mole Antonelliana: €17/20 per adult, Tuesdays closed. Egyptian Museum: € 18 per adult Monday afternoons closed Royal Palace: € 16 per adult, Wednesdays closed. ***IMPORTANT*** Starting from may 26th he Royal Palace has announced renovation works, so some parts of the Palace may be closed at the time of your visit.
