Hello and welcome to Turin! As a guide, I am driven by the passion of sharing the heart and heritage of Piedmont—a land I have loved and explored since I was 14, when I first set out on my 50cc motorbike to uncover its hidden treasures. Even today, I am still discovering new natural and man-made wonders at every new trip. I was raised on the farm of my grandfather, who taught me in the traditional language the ancient art of winemaking, together with the deep connection between this land and its people. Through my tours, I offer you an authentic journey into Piedmont’s ancestral heritage, where culture, history, and nature intertwine. As a trained political scientist, I also bring a unique perspective, helping you understand Piedmont’s rich historical and geographical significance, in its human connections across the Western Alps and its historic maritime gateway to the world, Nice. Last but not least, I have a professional background as a diplomat. I’ve lived and worked in the Caucasus and Central Asia, lands whose rugged landscapes wonderfully echoed Piedmont’s beauty, reminding me daily of home. This experience honed my skills in organizing group tours, managing arrivals, and briefing international guests. During my postings’ vacations, I took great joy in introducing foreign colleagues to Turin’s rich history, culture, and culinary traditions. Over the years, I also became a proud father of three, which also helps me to be a friendly guide, engaging travellers of all ages with patience and humour. Let’s explore Piedmont together. Through Turin’s baroque palaces, sharing the secrets of local winemaking, or leading you off the beaten path, I will ensure that this land and its way of life will provide you with insightful and unforgettable experiences —slowly, deeply, and with passion. I am a professional tour leader for Italy I can customize every journey according to your interests and expectations I am an author about travel experiences ('Storie dal Mondo' - https://mn.kel12.com) I am an experienced driver and I can also of course accompany you in your vehicle or arrange for a separate car and driver.

This one-day tour follows Piedmont’s historical axis of connection with Western Europe—the Susa Valley—tracing the footsteps of Hannibal and the pilgrims who journeyed along the medieval Via Francigena, linking Canterbury to Rome through France. Since my adolescence, I have often hiked the mystical path leading to the majestic symbol of Piedmont: the Sacra di San Michele, a breathtaking medieval abbey, perched on a rocky outcrop, which offers not only spiritual inspiration but also stunning panoramic views of the entire Turin. On the way to the top, we will stop at the charming medieval town of Avigliana and admire its picturesque Alpine lakes. After a leisurely downhill walk, we’ll continue to Susa, where we’ll discover impressive Roman relics, including the ancient amphitheater and Augustus’ Arch. The tour includes as well visits to two more essential monuments of medieval Piedmont: the Carolingian Novalesa Abbey, founded by Benedictine monks in 726, and the Commandery (Abbey) of Saint Antony of Ranverso
• Depart from Turin and visit the Abbey of Saint Antony of Ranverso with its masterpieces of Gothic art and medieval spirituality. • Transfer to Avigliana for a stroll through its charming medieval center. • Scenic drive uphill to the Sacra of Saint Micheal with a photo stop at Avigliana’s picturesque alpine lakes on the way. • Arrival to the Sacra and visit of its breathtaking premises overlooking the valley and Turin. • Optional for active travelers: a serene 2 km downhill walk (40 min) through the forest, with pickup at the lower parking lot. • Drive through the Susa valley with sightseeing of key historical sites. • Optional lunch to enjoy gourmet Piedmontese specialties at a local restaurant. • Drive to Novalesa and visit of the Abbey and its quaint village. • Drive to Susa town and visit. Return to Turin, concluding the tour. Seasonal Highlight: in different locations of the itinerary, there are festivals including Medieval reenactments, open-air concerts at the Abbeys and food fairs.
