Buongiorno! I introduce myself, my name is Olivier, born in Torino with French origin, I know and love my city since my childhood, always ready to explore new topics to keep up to date. After my studies, I started travelling to improve my language skills, this allowed me to be active for 30 years in the automotive field (Torino was the FIAT city), dealing in particular with English, French and German customers. The turning point of my life, from a professional point of view, happened when I successfully achieved the needed certifications and I started cooperating with professionals of the tourism field, offering my knowledge and communication skills for dedicated guided tours. I always do my best to turn the visit of Guests into an interactive experience and a time to share good emotions. I will be glad to introduce you to the history, architecture, food & wine culture of my city. For decades mainly known for being an industrial city, Turin has finally become a valuated touristic destination, not impacted with mass tourism but for selected admirers of this "hidden gem". I will show you the many souls of Turin: Starting from its foundations, still visible in the archaeological park with the ruins of ancient Augusta Taurinorum. Passing through the splendour of the Baroque, with the elegant squares and princely palaces, created by the Savoy. Entering the medieval quarters that still retain the original Roman town layout, which has remained intact to this day. Immersing into the colours and scents of Europe's largest open-air market, a pulsating cultural and multi-ethnic centre. Experiencing the many locations used as sets during the shooting of famous iconic movies. Tasting the finest and most delicate chocolate creations, in wonderful historical cafés that are like time machines. Drinking the finest Vermouths and Wines, accompanied by famous local appetizers, for a holistic immersion in the Piemontese cuisine. Walking in the most elegant commercial passages, designed as gathering points for the bourgeoisie. Plunging into the green heart of the city, biking along the banks of Italy's longest river, admiring the city's skyline from the best breathtaking panoramic point, surrounded by the alpine arc. These are just some of the experiences I will be glad to share with you! Taking a lesson from the words of Beppe Culicchia, the Turin writer I love most, imagining Turin as a home, I will literally take you inside its kitchen, in its living room, wine cellar, terrace, garden and other authentic places. Turin is my attraction, still seducing me every day; it is said that if you come ones, you come again. The expectations are high, you will be satisfied to the full. I am really looking forward to welcoming you in Turin, thank you and see you soon! Certified tourist guide, tour leader and bicycle tourist guide, by the local government (Regione Piemonte) in Turin.
