Hi everybody! My name is Silvia and I'm a professional licensed guide of Ravenna since 2000. I think being a tour guide is the most beautiful job in the world! It makes me travel even if I don't move thank to the different people and culture I can meet every day. I feel very lucky and proud to be born in Ravenna and it is an honor for me to be one of the ambassadors of her Beauty. I'll take you through a journey from the ancient glorious past of the city to the diversity of nowadays. I was born in this quiet town in the not so far 1980, this is the place where I've been raised and there is no other city where I'd like to live more than this one. All of my family comes from the countryside, my grandparents were farmers and carpenters, but my parents moved to the city in order to work in the tourism field. In fact, I've inherited the passion for travel and for discovering from my parents, and the intense bond with my land, the passion for its traditions, its genuine food, the love for restoration and conservation from my grandparents. I am also passionate about art and design. I attended the Academy of Fine Arts of the city where I studied the mosaic technique, and in my free time (not so much!) I like to create mosaics artworks and bring antique furniture back to life. My daily goal is to make visitors feel like part of the city, like a tile of its fascinating mosaics, showing them Ravenna through the eyes of the people who live here, and let them leave with the desire to come back. I will be more than happy to offer my experience and professionalism to make the most suitable tour of Ravenna for your needs. I propose different itineraries, to meet the interests of different kind of groups: from the historic-monumental tour to the local food folklore, through the fascinating Bizantine mosaics, to the contemporary artist's studios.
