Ravenna was one of the most important cities of Late Antique Europe and hosts some spectacular works of art and architecture from this period. In this tour we are going to visit a few stunnig UNESCO monuments of Ravenna, which feature sparkling and exquisite mosaics from the early Christianity. I will lead you through the wonder of the mosaics of Ravenna, telling you about the characters depicted, the symbols, and the religious politics behind them. I'll let you discover and delve into the unexpected atmosphere. The radiance and colours of the ancient mosaics will allow you to feel how worshippers felt centuries ago. Don't hesitate to contact me and ask for TAILORED tours and for LARGER groups!
Luana was the most amazing knowledgeable guide! The day tour of Ravenna from Venice, with comfortable private transportation, was the best time and money well spent on our Italian visit. Walking through the ancient Byzantine basilica sites with the expertise and narration from Luana was great. We had a perfect day. Great communication all around made it worry free. Highly recommend this tour.
This was a perfect day trip out of Venice for myself, my wife and two other family members. Luana planned every detail to perfection including our transportation to and from Venice with our excellent and very friendly driver, Massimo. Upon our arrival in Ravenna, Luana greeted us and spent a little time getting to know us. We started our walking tour of what turned out to be an extremely informative and enjoyable tour of several World Heritage sites, a few other sites and a mid-tour stop for lunch, that Luana supplied us with 3 options. Ravenna is such a special place, especially in the history and the sheer amount of beautiful mosaic craftsmanship that you'll see no where else in the world. We highly recommend Luana. It's apparent that she loves what she does, has a great knowledge of her subject and she made our tour very enjoyable and personal. One we'll remember forever.
The Ravenna tour was wonderful. The mosaics are spectacular, Luana is a great tour guide and the ride was comfortable. Everything was organized very well.
Luana was a fantastic guide. She arranged for us to get to Ravenna from Venice then spent a wonderful day showing us that fantastic city. If you want to see those fantastic mosaics, ask Luana!
Luana's tour of Ravenna made my trip to Venice so memorable. The UNESCO heritage sites were amazing. She gave such wonderfully informative artistic and historical background which enhanced the tour. She was so lovely, enthusiastic, and very accommodating. Her choice for lunch was perfect. I was able to have the local specialty, piadina, which was so delicious. And she also arranged for transport to and from Venice for me which was so helpful. This was the highlight of my week in Venice. Simply fantastic.
Wow! This was a grand tour meeting all of our desires plus some! Luana is very knowledgable of Italian history and brings the old to life. Nice work and we were very pleased!! :-).
