Hi, my name is Francesco. I would like to welcome you to my warm and welcoming Emilia Romagna. I was born and raised in Ravenna but I have lived in Bologna for many years. I am a tour guide and a tour leader with a regular license and since I am a professional wine taster I have chosen to tell my territory giving great importance to the food and wine aspect. First of all I would say that I feel like a traveler. I have had travel experience on almost every continent. As a traveler, I like to blend in with the local people and learn from them the secrets of the place visited. In every place I visit then, I love to taste the local delicacies. I also give great importance to storytelling. To what and how say something, for this reason I have devoted a lot of time to writing (another interest I have) and, lucky me. . . I have published three travel books, nationwide distributed (Recently tranlsated in English and available on Amazon) So, my idea of traveling and touring is to get to know people with a local perspective, to get to know the historical and gastronomic culture and to know how to tell it. This is my idea of travel and what I try to spread to the travelers I meet! Contact me without hesitation for any information or to customize your tour! Tour Guide professional licence Tour Leader professional licence Wine taster O.N.A.V. Degree I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver. If you are interested in discovering the flavors and aromas of the typical cuisine of Ravenna and the Romagna region, this tour is absolutely for you. I am a certified tour guide of this region, but also a food and wine lover. I do a lot of food tours in Bologna, but I was born and raised in Ravenna, here I graduated as a wine taster and I opened for some years my wine bar with service of local wine and regional food, so I designed this tour for all those who want to discover the foodie side of the city, but with some touches of our stunning art. This tour is mostly about experiencing food, wine and how it is made with some little stops about history and mosaic art (80% food / 20% art). We will see some monuments but not the most famous ones like Basilica di San Vitale and Mausoleum of Galla Placidia. For that kind of visit I suggest you to book my cultural art tour or ask me for a customization!
- Meeting point at the train station or your accommodation in Ravenna - Our first stop will be at a nice pasticceria to taste coffee or cappuccino and an artisan pastry (breakfast the Italian way!). - We will visit the Arian Baptistery (open from 9 am to 12 pm), a Unesco World Heritage Site. This stop can be only in the morning. - Dante Alighieri's tomb and franciscan cloisters - Piadina (our local flat bread) paired with cured meats and cheeses and a glass of Sangiovese. - The Basilica of St. Francis and an amazing flooded crypt with a mosaic floor - A pasta tasting in the city's covered market - A stroll in the town center to visit the historic shops - Gelato in an artisan gelato shop The tour lasts approximately 3 hours.

I can reach you at the train station if you plan to do a day trip or at your accomodation. No transportation needed since all the tour will be in a traffic closed zone in the center of the city. If you are landing from a cruise consider that you have to look for the private transportation from the pier to the city center.
Piazza del Popolo, Ravenna, Emilia-Romagna, 48121, Italy
ByGuide: Rail station or Hotel or in the main square of the city Piazza del Popolo. Please consider that if you are doing a cruise stop in the city you also have to look for the transportation to the city and back.
