Welcome! My name is Catia. I'm of Venetian origins, but have been a resident in Milan for many years. I obtained degree in Art History (with Honours) at University Ca' Foscari VENICE. After that, I moved to Milan and got a Tour Guide license in 2014. I am now a registered Tour Guide in Milan and Venice. I also studied English for 5 years at the British Council Institution (C1 level from the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). I'm specialized in Renaissance history, mostly Leonardo, Rafael and Venetian painters, but I have also attended many workshops dedicated to different topics about Milan, from gastronomy, to art and history. I have studies in Religious Tourism too. I actually continue to study for my job, attending trainings at University or other schools, for I believe learning is a never ending process. I long to remain up to date about my city and its changes, as well as of its traditions and cultural events to offer the best experience to visitors, regularly thinking of new routes to explore. Although my job is my main passion, my second greatest passion is theatre. I am also very passionate about travelling, which I have been fortunate to do, approaching it with curiosity and learning about new cultures and traditions. That's part of why I love this city, capital of finance, fashion and design but at the same time with many cultural opportunities to seize. I'd like to invite you to explore the highlights of Milan with me, discovering its rich history and many marvels, from hidden gems to museums and temporary expositions the city organizes, dedicated to painters, photographers or artists in general. If my calendar seems full, don’t hesitate to contact me anyway. I may still be able to accommodate you. I can organize private transportation by private car and driver. Please note that I provide pick-up and drop-off at the hotel only through the driver. I will meet you directly at the designated meeting point. For easy communication on the day of the tour, I suggest downloading WhatsApp on your smartphone.

On this tour, we will admire the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana's renowned collections, including iconic artworks such as Caravaggio's basket of fruit, the Cartoon for the School of Athens by Raphael & Brueghel's flamboyant Vase of flowers. We will also visit the library's 17th century reading room, with the original drawings from Leonardo da Vinci's Codex Atlanticus. The genius Leonardo stayed in Milan for 20 years and he opened a school with many students. The duke in that time, Ludovico Sforza, famously called Leonardo da Vinci to paint the Last Supper inside the refectory of the Domenican Convent. After that, he had him paint a room inside his castle, the same castle we'll step inside of. Since this is a walking tour, I suggest bringing a bottle of water and wearing comfortable shoes. If you book during the summer, be sure not to forget a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses. If you book during the winter, don't forget to bring a raincoat or small umbrella in case it rains.
·This tour will begin once we've met by the Leonard Icon monument from renowned architect Daniel Libeskind, which is in front of the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana. ·We'll proceed to enter the Pinacoteca where we'll view artworks by legendary artists, such as Da Vinci's Portrait of a Musician. ·After exploring the Pinacoteca, we'll go on a short stroll to the Sforza Castle, passing by the Largo Cairoli square with the monument to Giuseppe Garibaldi. ·On arrival to the castle, we'll visit the Museum of Ancient Art, which presents artworks from different eras and civilizations, from Ancient Rome all the way to the Reinassance, including Pietà Rondanini, Michelangelo’s last work. -If you don't want to end the tour there and want to see the Last Supper which is in the Basilica of Santa Maria delle Grazie a couple of blocks from the castle, contact me and I will create a customized version of this tour for you. The itinerary can be customized according to your needs and requests.
