Welcome! My name is Catia. I'm of Venetian origins, but have been a resident in Milan for many years. I obtained degree in Art History (with Honours) at University Ca' Foscari VENICE. After that, I moved to Milan and got a Tour Guide license in 2014. I am now a registered Tour Guide in Milan and Venice. I also studied English for 5 years at the British Council Institution (C1 level from the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). I'm specialized in Renaissance history, mostly Leonardo, Rafael and Venetian painters, but I have also attended many workshops dedicated to different topics about Milan, from gastronomy, to art and history. I have studies in Religious Tourism too. I actually continue to study for my job, attending trainings at University or other schools, for I believe learning is a never ending process. I long to remain up to date about my city and its changes, as well as of its traditions and cultural events to offer the best experience to visitors, regularly thinking of new routes to explore. Although my job is my main passion, my second greatest passion is theatre. I am also very passionate about travelling, which I have been fortunate to do, approaching it with curiosity and learning about new cultures and traditions. That's part of why I love this city, capital of finance, fashion and design but at the same time with many cultural opportunities to seize. I'd like to invite you to explore the highlights of Milan with me, discovering its rich history and many marvels, from hidden gems to museums and temporary expositions the city organizes, dedicated to painters, photographers or artists in general. If my calendar seems full, don’t hesitate to contact me anyway. I may still be able to accommodate you. I can organize private transportation by private car and driver. Please note that I provide pick-up and drop-off at the hotel only through the driver. I will meet you directly at the designated meeting point. For easy communication on the day of the tour, I suggest downloading WhatsApp on your smartphone.

On this tour, we will visit one of Milan's most important art museums often referred to as the little Louvre of Milan, where you'll come across a collection of masterpieces by famous painters such us Raphael, Caravaggio and many others. Its origins date back to the 18th century when Archduchess Maria Theresa of Austria opened the Academy of Fine Arts. Years later, it was Napoleon himself who founded the Pinacoteca, which to this day remains a true cultural gem. We will walk from the Opera House La Scala square to see the wonderful narrow streets of the neighbourhood with boutiques, perfumeries, historic stores and magnificant courtyards. Given that this is a walking tour, I suggest bringing a bottle of water and wearing comfortable shoes. If you book during the summer, be sure not to forget a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses for when we're out of the museum. If you book during the winter, don't forget to bring a raincoat or small umbrella in case it rains.
·Once we've gathered in front of the magnificent Teatro alla Scala, we'll begin walking by the adjacent Via Giuseppe Verdi until it transforms into Via Brera. ·Once in Via Brera, we'll be passing by picturesque boutiques and shops until we reach the Pinacoteca. ·On arrival, we'll step inside the Brera Museum where we'll see iconic works of art such as Francesco Hayez's The Kiss (described as the the most passionate and tender kiss in art history) and Donato Bramante's Christ at the Column. ·After exploring the museum, we'll wrap up the tour walking along Via San Marco where I'll share little known insights of Milan's history as a water city with artificial canals. This itinerary can be customized according to your needs and requests. Note: Pinacoteca di Brera is Closed on Mondays. The private guided tour includes entrance tickets to the Pinacoteca and an exclusive private guide so that you can discover all the details of every corner of this emblematic neighborhood.
