Overview of your Vishakhapatnam tour
Immerse yourself for a day into the Buddhism history and visit with me the impressive Buddhist heritage archeological site of Sankaram, located near the small town of Anakapalli. It is about 45 km away from Vizag. The site has 2 small hills: Bojjanakonda rock cut caves, and Lingalakonda rock cut path where to find small rock cut stupas in row, lot of stupas too. Some walking is required to visit them. I will explain you about these sites and feel free to ask me all your questions! To complete our day tour, we will visit one of the biggest jaggery market in India, in Anakapalli. We stop by Yarada beach, go to the Dolphin's Nose - a viewpoint hill - and visit the lighthouse there.
Your Vishakhapatnam tour itinerary
- Drive 45 min to 1 hour from the city to reach Sankaram site. - Visit the Buddhist rock cut caves, Bojjanakonda and Ligalakonda - about 2 hours. - We then go to the Jaggery market - about 20 min visit. - Stop for lunch. - We continue to Yarada beach - 20 min. - Last stop will be the Dolphins nose mountain (viewpoint) and visit the lighthouse - 30 min. to 1 hour. *During the weekends or local festivities, the order of the places to visit may be changed to avoid the big crowd. * Please wear a hat on sunny days.
