Hello travelers Namaste. . . !! Namaste is the common greeting in India. It is a gesture to send a message of peaceful spirituality to the universe in the hopes of receiving a positive message back. . . . In modern cultures, however, namaste is taken to a new level of meaning. It goes beyond a spiritual chant and a divine greeting I work as a tour guide, appointed by the Ministry of Tourism & culture, Government of India (Uttar Pradesh). I go with you inside the monuments to explain the details, history and architecture, as I have license you do not need to pay for my tickets. I was born and brought up in Varanasi (city of Deity Shiva) and completed my M. B. A in travel and tourism from Indian Institute of Travel and Tourism, which helps me to explain different aspects of History, life, architecture and religion and much more. I am an explorer, who loves to explore various new places either historical or newly developed. I can also guide you in Agra, Jaipur and other cities too. I share my traveling experience and knowledge with my guests, so that they can try to understand India in a better way. We meet as a guest but leave as a friend. I offer several walking tours, food tour and photography tour in the old city of Varanasi which gives my Guests an opportunity to acclimatize with the local culture and life of the people in the old city. I also offer the morning and evening boat rides, Sarnath tour (the place where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon) and visit to the famous Banaras Hindu University along with few temples. My hobbies are travelling and interaction with people, I always had a dream to do a job, where I could meet new people from different countries and , this job truly gives me opportunity to meet new people. I believe do whatever makes you happy and give your 200 percent. Often referred to as Banares, Varanasi is the oldest living city in the world. These few lines by Mark Twain say it all: "Banaras is older than history, older than tradition, older even than legend and looks twice as old as all of them put together". Varanasi is very ancient city which is mentioned in Hindu's epic Mahabharata where it is named as Kashi. The city, Varanasi or Kashi became the centre of attraction in religion, trade and business, meeting place of saints, sages and scholars from all Asia, It is situated on the bank of river Ganga or Ganges, which is the most holy river for Hindus It is the cultural capital of India. Thank you for your valuable time to read my profile. friends, who are planning to visit India, hope I will get a chance to show you around my multicultural country. . . . ! I can plan an itinerary based on your interests and the intended duration of your trip. Thanks with regards :) Shashank (Shasha) 1. This year on january to March. Kumbh Mela or Kumbha Mela is a mass Hindu pilgrimage of faith in which Hindus gather to bathe in a sacred or holy river. Traditionally, four fairs are widely recognized as the Kumbh Melas, the Prayag Kumbh Mela, Haridwar Kumbh Mela, the Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Simhastha, and the Shipra at Ujjain. Bathing in these rivers is thought to cleanse a person of all their sins. At any given place, the Kumbh Mela is held once in 12 years. The exact age of the festival is uncertain. According to medieval Hinduism, Lord Vishnu dropped drops of Amrita (the drink of immortality) at four places, while transporting it in a kumbha (pot). These four places are identified as the present-day sites of the Kumbh Mela. The name "Kumbh Mela" literally means "kumbha fair". It is known as "Kumbh" in Hindi (due to schwa deletion); in Sanskrit and some other Indian languages, it is more often known by its original name "Kumbha"
