Overview of your Kollam tour
Spend time exploring how life is in the villages of Keralam, the State famous for its highly civilized society. A day visit to Munroe island, about 30 minute drive from Kollam city, a unique village lying below water level, surrounded by Ashtamudi lake . Life here revolves around water . Agriculture, fishing, Coir making etc gives the livelihood for the people. virgin mangrove areas can be still seen here. Living very near to this area, I have a good connection with the people so it will be a pleasure for me to connect you to their lifestyle. if you happen to visit it between March-April, you can even witness some exciting temple festivals.
Your Kollam tour itinerary
- Recommended 08. 30 am to start. We will drive to Munroe island (about 30 min. ). - On arrival, take an hour long country boat ride to the mangrove areas. - Then, we continue the visit through the village by walk. We will be walking through various agricultural activities done by the locals. This is an island where the inhabitants still face tidal water issues. - We will have a lunch time break to enjoy a local lunch served on traditional banana leaf. - Then, in the later in the afternoon, we will return back to your hotel.
