Hi, my name is Nadav and I have been working as a tour guide in Berlin since 2002. I am a historian (focusing on WW2 history), however I also like to share my knowledge about what is going on in Berlin today. Although I was Born in Israel, I travelled with my parents, to Africa and Latin America, where my father worked as a civil engineer. Parallel to my studies (B. A. in Middle Eastern Studies and Political science and M. A in Security Studies) I worked in the Israeli Prime Minister office. In 2001 I decided to continue my studies (PhD) in the Berlin University (FU-Berlin). Part of my decision for moving to Berlin was the fact that my family origin is from Germany. Actually, if you decide to visit the Jewish Museum in Berlin, you will see a few artefacts that were donated by my family. Apart from Jewish Heritage Tours in Berlin, I also offer a wide array of other tours. Although I strongly recommend doing a walking tours, I can also offer a bike tour and of course - with a car. I have led many groups and private tours in Berlin, Potsdam, Hamburg, Dresden, Hannover and many other places in Germany. Sachsenhausen concentration camp Memorial - Licenced guide Prussian gardens - Official licence Guide Otto Weidt (Part of the German resistance museum) B.A. - Middle Eastern history and political Science M.A. - Security Studies (Military history) None.

Just as World War II ended, Berlin became a focal point for a new war. The Cold War. Of course, I can take to the obvious places like Check-point Charlie and the remains of the Wall. However, if you are history freaks (like me) then maybe you will be interested in seeing a bit more. From the "Palace of Tears" in Friedrichstrasse, to the ghost stations of east Berlin. I will take to the main Berlin-Wall memorial, a site where not only a piece of the wall itself was kept, but also some sections of the no-man's land ("the death strip"). I will tell about the ways East German manage to escape, about the tunnels that were dug under the wall. From East to west and from West to east. We can discuss the reasons why it was built and how it might have made the world a safer place. I will tell you abot the lives of people from both sides and their suffering. We will also hear some spying stories, the ways both sides kept a tag on each other, and how East Germany became, as Anna Funder calls it, "Stasiland".
- Friedrichstrasse Control Station and the Palace of Tears Museum. - The Berlin Wall Memorial with original pieces of the No-Man's Land - "The death Strip" - Original Piece of the Berlin Wall and one of the Guard Towers - Church or Reconciliation and the Memorial to the victims of the Berlin Wall - The sites of the famous 57-Tunnel below the Berlin Wall - "Ghost Stations" - Museum in der Kulturbrauerei - Life under the GDR dictatorship OR - The site of the former headquarters of the Stasi (GDR secret police) - Karl Marx Allee - the main Avenue of East Berlin ** Contact me if you'd like to customize the itinerary.
