Hi, my name is Nadav and I have been working as a tour guide in Berlin since 2002. I am a historian (focusing on WW2 history), however I also like to share my knowledge about what is going on in Berlin today. Although I was Born in Israel, I travelled with my parents, to Africa and Latin America, where my father worked as a civil engineer. Parallel to my studies (B. A. in Middle Eastern Studies and Political science and M. A in Security Studies) I worked in the Israeli Prime Minister office. In 2001 I decided to continue my studies (PhD) in the Berlin University (FU-Berlin). Part of my decision for moving to Berlin was the fact that my family origin is from Germany. Actually, if you decide to visit the Jewish Museum in Berlin, you will see a few artefacts that were donated by my family. Apart from Jewish Heritage Tours in Berlin, I also offer a wide array of other tours. Although I strongly recommend doing a walking tours, I can also offer a bike tour and of course - with a car. I have led many groups and private tours in Berlin, Potsdam, Hamburg, Dresden, Hannover and many other places in Germany. Sachsenhausen concentration camp Memorial - Licenced guide Prussian gardens - Official licence Guide Otto Weidt (Part of the German resistance museum) B.A. - Middle Eastern history and political Science M.A. - Security Studies (Military history) None.

Berlin, the capital of Germany, is a fascinating city. Although its history goes back 1000 years ago, one can say that Berlin is the capital of the 20th century. From WW1, the Roaring Twenties, The rise of the Nazi and WW2 to the Cold War, the fall of the communist block, street art and much more. In the tour, I will take you through the dramatic changes and turbulences in Berlin's history. We will see where the Nazis' main government offices were, and the way Germany now commemorates this horrible past. We will see a piece of the Berlin Wall and walk through the (in)famous Checkpoint Charlie. Not only that, but we will of course also see the buildings representing the glory of the Prussian capital, from the stunning Gendarmenmarkt to the awe-inspiring Museum Island. Contemporary Berlin is also part of the route - with modern architecture, a bit of street art and a lot of Berlin spirit.
See the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Museum Island, including the Berliner Dom and the Lustgarten Understand the concept of the Humboldt Forum - the site of the former Berlin City Palace. Stroll through Unter den Linden View the Zeughaus - the old Armoury Building and visit the Neue Wache Admire the main building of Humboldt University, with its many notable scientists We will explain about Bebelplatz and Ullman's Book Burning Monument Marvell Gendarmenmarkt Go through Checkpoint Charlie and see an original segment of the Berlin Wall See the Topography of Terror Museum (without entering the exhibition) as well as the site of Hermann Göring's Aviation Ministry, of Hitler's New Chancellery and of the Führerbunker (Hitler's Bunker). Walk solemnly through the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe Experience Brandenburg Gate and see the Reichstag Building (from the outside) ** Contact me if you'd like to customize the itinerary.
