We will meet at Haus der Kulturen der Welt, a symbolic gateway into Berlin’s layered world of culture, freedom, and experimentation. From here, the journey follows the legacy of Magnus Hirschfeld and his pioneering work in early sexology, where Berlin began openly exploring sexuality, identity, and desire. We move through echoes of the Weimar Republic and 1920s Berlin — a city of radical freedom, queer visibility, and artistic excess — and visit the Memorial to the Homosexuals persecuted under Nazism, a quiet space of remembrance and resistance. The route continues through Schöneberg and Kreuzberg, long-time hubs of queer life and alternative culture still alive today.
