Welcome to Paris, I am a qualified art historian, but also a multi-award winning professional portrait painter. My work hangs in the US Embassy, Paris, the Légion of Honour Chancellery, international art galleries and private collections worldwide. I have spent my whole life practicing and studying art, from a Masters degree in art history, to the Ecole des Beaux Arts and independent art academies. During my studies I practised my craft as copy artist in the Louvre, a place I love and know by heart. Having taken a very similar path to the generations of artists before me, I feel a special connection with the art I present to my visitors. As well as private museum tours, I also work as Enrichment Speaker on Cruise Lines such as Celebrity, Princess and Cunard. Variety keeps me on my toes! Don't imagine that my very traditional painting style means I disregard modern and contemporary art! I was privileged to learn from descendants of the famous School of Paris and work in one of the last remaining artists studios from that period. I can give insights "from the horses mouth". I am accredited to guide visitors in the new Pinault Collection contemporary art centre as well as Centre Pompidou. Overview of your Paris tour
As an artist trained in the techniques of the old masters (including 3 years as copy artist in the Louvre) I have in-depth knowledge of the methods used to create the masterpieces that await you in this most fabulous of museums. But the Louvre also tells a great story… every piece on show has been carefully curated to unveil the evolution of Western civilisation through art. We will follow its trail from the beginning with Classical Antiquity, then continue through the Italian renaissance, understand a little why Mona Lisa casts such a spell, then discover how France became world leader in art. Yes, we will see the famous highlights, but also I will share with you new ways of looking at art. Take away lasting knowledge with your memories! PLEASE NOTE THAT ENTRANCE TICKETS ARE NOT INCLUDED. Apologies, it has become just too difficult for independent guides to purchase them on behalf of visitors. I advise checking ticket availability first before booking a tour at short notice.
