Saint Germain des Pres and its Great Female Figures

A part of the left bank, just in front of the Louvre, is not only the most Parisian and the most intellectual area of the City of Lights, it's also a place that keeps memories of many incredible women that used to live here. The tradition to consider this place as the most intellectual and prestigious was born at the time when the church Saint German des Pres, one of the oldest in Paris and its affiliated abbey used to be for a while a royal necropolis and a place where the monks of the Order of St Maur created such science as History.
