My chers amis, Bonjour and welcome to Paris! Paris is a fabulous city justly described as an international capital of fashion, gastronomy, romance, art and so on. My personal love story with Paris started when I first visited France being a law student from Saint Petersburg taking part in « Chantiers bénévoles », a volunteer project consisting in a restoration of a medieval castle in the South of France. I found almost immediately that French history, heritage and people are so interesting, that I should move here forever. So, I came to France, studied history and art and obtained a diploma which enabled me to receive my official tour guide license (« carte de guide-conférencier ») in 2013. Since that, I really appreciate being a professional guide. From my childhood, I love to spend time in museums with their particulate atmosphere and charm. I love as well to share my passion for art and make the wonders of French History come alive in front of your eyes, as I take you on tour. I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

Saint-Germain-des-Prés it is said is one of the most elegant, intellectual and fashionable neighborhoods of Paris. A world of bookstores, publishing houses, art galleries and legendary terraces where writers, artists, philosophers, and the most stylish Parisians used to spent and still do spent their days and nights. Behind this beautiful Left Bank scenery lies another story: the women who fought to create, write, paint, think freely, vote, wear what they wanted, and refuse to remain what Simone de Beauvoir called “the Second Sex.”
During this walk, we will explore Saint-Germain through the lives of women such as Simone de Beauvoir, Colette, George Sand, Dora Maar, Juliette Gréco, Françoise Sagan, and others whose presence still echoes through the neighborhood today. Their stories are artistic, intellectual, political, and deeply personal — filled with freedom, ambition, scandals, love affairs, and the desire to live beyond the limits imposed on women of their time. Together, we will wander through streets, cafés, publishing houses, and historic landmarks connected to writers, artists, and philosophers who made Saint-Germain-des-Prés famous around the world. We will discover the atmosphere of iconic places such as “Les Deux Magots”, “Café de Flore”, Carrefour du Croix Rouge, Luxembourg Garden, place Furstengerg... This is not a lecture, but a storytelling walk designed to make Paris feel alive and deeply human.
