Private tour - Louvre - Full day with an Art Historian

"The Louvre is intended to never be completely finished, but rather to be continuously transformed" (Pierre Fontaine, 1817). During a lecture, French artist Christian Boltansky talk about his early experiences at the Louvre when he was a fine arts student. He said that in order to discover the intricacies of this museum he began "following" visitors and so visiting areas of the museum that he might never have visited otherwise. From that moment on, I started doing the same thing, and voilà . . . I have discovered this magnificent museum far and wide. This visit will be a real journey where we will discover masterpieces and hidden extraordinary spaces of what was once a fortress and a royal residence. Up and down the steps of this magnificent building we will see the royal apartments, discover hybrid gardens inside glazed loggias and we will experience the richness of the various sections (from the oriental one to the collection of medieval objects, passing through the Flemish collections).
