Bonjour! My name is Oxana, and I am a National State approved French tour guide. I was born in Moscow, Russia, from where my family moved to France in 1998. I have been living in Paris since, and now know this city like the back of my hand. After finishing secondary school, I first studied fine arts at the Sorbonne University and then joined the school for professional guides from which I graduated, in 2009, with a diploma and a national tourist guide license issued by the French Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Since then I have been working as a tour guide in Paris and its nearby regions with people from all over the world. I myself am a passionate traveler. I have visited over 20 countries in Europe, Asia and Latin America. I speak four languages: English, French, Russian and Spanish, which helps when I am travelling, discovering new continents, people, their history, their culture. As well as visiting other countries, I like to travel inside France, whose regions have so much to offer in terms of cultural heritage, landscapes and, of course, local cooking traditions. However, in spite of there being so many other amazing places on Earth, I truly believe that my city is the best one. I would recommend Oxana as a tour guide. She was well knowledged in the history and architecture of Paris. We hit all the top highlight and she gave recommendations of what to do as we continued our journey in Paris. She was very friendly...it was a great learning experience.

We had a lovely time with Oxana who showed us the main sights in Paris on this walking tour. She was full of historical facts and useful information on the sights we saw, and I particularly liked an impromptu detour to Saint Chapelle (which was not part of the tour) when she saw that the line to Saint Chapelle was short, as well as to the courts. I would certainly like her to guide me again on other sights the next time we are in Paris - thank you Oxana!

This tour starts at the Ile de la Cité, the historical heart of Paris, where the Notre-Dame Cathedral stands. You can admire its beautiful facade, bell towers and famous gargoyles. Then you will cross the river to walk through the Medieval streets in the Latin Quarter on the Left Bank of the river Seine, where the Sorbonne University is located. Once we have returned to our starting point, the Ile de la Cite, you will learn about the history of the Gothic jewel, the Sainte-Chapelle, and the terrible prison, the Conciergerie, where Queen Marie-Antoinette was imprisoned during the French Revolution. On the Right Bank of the river, you will be able to discover the city's most famous landmarks such as the Louvre, the Tuileries gardens, the Place de la Concorde, the Champs-Elysees, the Arc de Triumph.
