Bonjour! My name is Julien. I'm a Parisian (or maybe I should say a suburban Parisian but don't tell anyone please. . . ) and I love my city. I love how cosmopolitan is Paris and I love its architecture and its museums. To learn about Paris is an endless book. Maybe because there was something about Arts running into my veins already when I was born as (several generations of Architects in my family), I became very interested in Arts from a young age. I could spend hours trying to copy the Mona Lisa. . . Then another passion emerged: learning about other cultures and languages after my first exchange with a Spaniard when I was a teenager. This was the first time I understood how big was the world and how different could be the cultures. This enhanced my interest in learning languages and took me abroad for studies and work experiences in UK, Spain, Mexico. After teaching Spanish for eight years I thought that being a guide would be the most pleasant way to share my two passions, languages and arts with people. And now you can find me at the Louvre, on City Island, Marais or other places, unveiling the stories and secrets of the paintings at the Louvre and monuments of Paris and tasting a piece of cheese or a macaron! Orsay is said to be parisians' favorite museum. Will you agree with them? There are many reasons why you should include the visit of Orsay in your list. First because it hosts the largest collection of impressionist paintings in the world, even though you'll probably be mesmerized by the works by Rosa Bonheur, Millet, Courbet and many others too. But Orsay has also a stunning collection of statues by Carpeaux, Rodin. . . most of them exhibited in the main gallery where a century ago you would have found the tracks of the trains. Yes, Orsay museum was built as a train station. Quite a challenge indeed to turn a train station into a museum but such a clever idea. The result is breathtaking.
This is the second tour we've done with Julien and he was, once again, a wonderful and informative companion on our visit to the Musee d'Orsay. From the history of the building through the explanations about the various artists and their impact on the art world, we enjoyed every moment of our tour. I highly recommend Julien for your visit to Paris.

We really enjoyed touring the D’Orsay with Julien. He has deep knowledge of the subject matter and clearly presented the history of the Impressionist period in a thoughtful manner. We toured with my wife and 2 sons, both in the 20’s, who also felt the tour was quite worthwhile. We would definitely book another tour with Julien. Thank you!
We had a fabulous morning at the Orsay. Julien is great and is very knowledgeable and has a great personality. We enjoyed being with him. It is our second tour with him and we will see him again next time when we are in Paris!
This was part 2 of our day with Julien, and we loved it. Julien has a love of architecture as well as history and art, so he tells us things we would not have noticed without him. He brought the building and the art to life!
I'll will explain you the history of the museum. Then I'll show you the art before the Impresionnist artists to understand what type of art people were looking for and why they didn't understand impressionism at the beginning. After we'll go to the Impresionnist gallery on the last floor where we'll find one of the most beautiful views over Paris. The tour can be customized upon request.
