Dear guest, I am a friendly licensed guide offering tours in and around Paris. Originally from the countryside region of Burgundy (Make wine, not war!!!), I arrived in Paris 16 years ago. I first fell in love with the city… and then fell in love with a Parisian in a grey suit… and together we made… two little Parisians! Whether it is your first or tenth visit, the possibilities are endless. Monuments, museums, walking tours or a mix of all these. . . I can also arrange private transportation on request. If you like history but prefer to hear about the dark side of it, this tour is for you! The Marais is one of the oldest and best preserved district in Paris. It offers beautiful architecture, spectacular mansions, the quiet, majestic Place des Vosges, one of the very few pieces of the 12th century wall that surrounded the city. . . Ahh if walls could speak. . . Well, they would tell you all about a poisoner named la Brinvilliers, how the Sun King was thrown into the arms of a one-eyed middle aged woman who taught him "love", all about Henri 2nd's atrocious death, the assassination of the Duke of Orleans and its many consequences on French history. . . . You want to hear it all? Come and join me on this great tour! Our tour includes stories as well as general history of the district, its royal inhabitants as well as Jewish community history. (This tour can be adapted to children and families but please kindly let me know in advance!!)
We really enjoyed having Caroline as our guide through the Marais and the Left Bank. She took us to places we would have never found ourselves! ...And so much information!! It was like having lunch with a "newsy" old friend. We learned so much about these wonderful areas of Paris. We would defiantly call on Caroline on our next trip to Paris!

Caroline was so great to see the Marais with. We have two older teens who enjoyed her, but we think that she would be great with younger kids too. She had some great stories about the area and took us through some little spots that we would never have known were there - Paris is such a tangle of little streets, allys and courtyards. Really fun to see it with someone "in the know". Highly recommend touring with Caroline with adults or younger families.

We'll meet outside metro Station Pont Marie to start a 2. 30 hrs Walking Tour of Marais district, one of the oldest district of Paris located in the center-east of the capital, on the right bank of the Seine River. It is a very lively district filled with boutiques and restaurants and is especially popular on Sundays when the central streets are reserved for pedestrians. The Marais is the most famous Jewish quarter in Paris and in much of Europe, still maintaining strong traditions. The tour will end on rue des Archives (I can walk you back to the closest metro station, restaurant or a taxi station).
