Hello! Please send me a message before booking, if possible, to make sure I'm available. I work with many partners, and it's possible my availability might not be up-to-date. I try to respond as soon as possible when the request is urgent, but if it's not, it may take more than 24 hours. Thank you for your understanding. Hi ! My name is Lucien and I have been a guide since 2018. I was a school teacher and now I am a "Guide conférencier" : I have a guiding licence. This allows me to guide you in the Louvre as in many other Parisian museums, such as the Musée d'Orsay, or my favorite, the Musée des Invalides. I love history, architecture and art history. I love Paris for its countless stories, impressive architecture and rich culture. I would certainly like to tell you everything I know about the history of Paris! In fact, it will be hard to stop me! I like to show you the most famous places in Paris but I will also try my best to show you Paris off the beaten track! My job is also to show you the real Paris and its real history: I will try to avoid the crowds as much as possible. My expertise in the history of Paris is mainly in the historic center: I can do circuits like the Île de la Cité; the Latin quarter ; halls ; Marsh ; Saint Germain des Prés, Montmartre; a bunch of other things. . . But I also like to go to the flea market in St Ouen (I live nearby). I specialize in the history of the city of paris and in its architectural and political evolution. And I love to dwell on the turbulent episodes of Paris, especially the many revolutions! I do NOT : guide in the Eiffel tower, the catacombs, the Champs Elysées, and I try to avoid Montmartre in the week end . To be honest, I will feel useless there because you can go there easily by yourself. I consider my job is to show you things you won't be able to discover alone! ( But that's just a personal preference! If you really want we can arrange if you have a specific request). If you request a personalized tour, I will be happy to prepare something for you! I work hard to give you quality information. Also, I try to ask for a correct price based on the Guides Syndicate grid. I can include museum tickets if you ask me. I do all my sightseeing on foot. I don't have a vtc license: please don't ask me to drive you! I think in Paris the best is always to walk during my tours. I also believe than using a car in Paris when you have a lot of other choices is a a waste of time and money and contribute to the pollution. Unless we do not have other immediate option, I will always recommend to thake the public transportation. I am happy to adapt my work to children but I am not a babysitter : I'm a professional guide and I spent a lot of time preparing my tours, so please don't leave me your children to go for a walk on your side, it's not my job (yes it is already arrived but we had fun). I'm not a personal shopper, but I'll be happy to recommend certain areas. I'm not really a foodie, but I know a lot of delicious restaurants! One last thing but quite important: I love Paris! For each local Paris is different. But above all, Paris may be different than the city you expect. For example, for some Paris is the city of luxury and fashion. Not that much for me to be honest! So I will be perfect if you want to discover the history of this city and what is behind the postcard. Master degree in Education Science "Guide Conférencier" diploma : I can guide you in all national museums. I usually don't drive in Paris and prefer to take the public transports. Please if you send me a request be kind enough to answer my messages it is very important to me, even you are not interested.

Since antiquity, Paris has known a Jewish community at its heart. The Jews lived in Paris a singular destiny, long protected by the literati and the church before undergoing centuries of persecution. Jews are now integrated into French society, enriching it with their experience and their culture. During this tour, you will learn about their history with your guide. Immerse yourself in the heart of the oldest and most emblematic streets of Paris to discover their history from antiquity to the present day. This tour aims to discover the ancient past of the Jews in Paris from antiquity to the present day. It will also be an opportunity to discover the history of Paris in more detail. This guided tour will be largely a "lecture" tour, meaning there will sometimes be more to hear than see! This is not a tour of the "Jewish Quarter" although that is where the tour will end. In addition, we will not enter a synagogue, open only for offices.
Start your tour at the Saint Michel district, where the first communities were established in antiquity. Explore the island of the city : Notre Dame and the Memorial deportation ( if we have time enough). You'll cross Île Saint Louis (one of two natural islands in the Seine river) to enter the charming Marais district to discover the old Pletzl - the place that used to be the famous Jewish quarter of Paris. Nowadays, there isn't really a Jewish quarter any more, most of them no longer living in a communal way, but scattered all over the city.

We will walk!
Paris, France
We will meet on the pretty square "Place Sain-André des Arts", near the vélib station (bicycle station). In front of the Café la G There are plenty of cafes around the square where you can have a rest if you arrive early! No, the tour does NOT start in the Marais but at this specific place. In addition, I do not pick up customers at their hotel for this tour because it is a route prepared in advance.
